Bowlesy on boost replied to argylevrs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Always wondered what size piping is best looks awesome though so fair play ! -
Got one on my mk1 octy as above top right but I think it was . Can be done I used a knuckle and plenty of extensions and came at it from the back of the sub frame . Rear O2 did foul a little but a bit if persuasion sorted that out . Only downside I had is it sounds raspy under full load but I put that down to my flexi not bein the best but for the price u can't go wrong ????

Insurance but for tools ......
Bowlesy on boost replied to Bowlesy on boost's topic in Insurance & Legal Issues
Around 3k lol I've never bothered in nearly 10 years of own and buying tools but we've had 3 break ins in 12 months at work and last time out the scumbags took the bosses toolbox but left mine and another lads ! We can only think it was because of the location of the boxes to the door they opened to get out but the old bill have said they will probably be back as they know their way round now and know what's left to take next time ! So for now its locked up in one of the offices while I source a chain strong enough to raise the titanic to put around it !!! -
Hi guys I know this is off topic but I'm trying to find someone to insure my tools through I use and keep them at work but I'm not self employed and they all seem to be aimed at tradesman and and so on so I'm after advice if anyone can help me

Quote for repair on MOT failures?
Bowlesy on boost replied to sammyhale30's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
If it was me I'd clean them up and take it elsewhere for an mot ! Any mechanic or tester would be able to tell the difference between water and brake fluid . Did they give u a print out of the brake test ? -
eBay fmic vs turbo revs smic
Bowlesy on boost replied to Bowlesy on boost's topic in Performance & Tuning Upgrades
I not worried about spinning the extra power away john as its more for midrange power for round the twists and stuff than dragging against the local corsa crew lol or are they really that bad on a stage 2 ? Raf is your kit fitted using the original pipework lay out or does it come from the turbo down the battery side then across like the majority of golf set ups I've sent ? -
When I rang eurocarparts they said all the Vito 638 drop links were the same
-
I ment the front speakers btw lol
-
Be wary of the magnet size as well .. Most ppl have gone for alpine in the past as they are fairly slim and right price !

k04 turbo conversion mk1 octavia vrs?
Bowlesy on boost replied to Bailey88's topic in Performance & Tuning Upgrades
What about a upgraded side mount instead ? You can bolt on the turbo and injectors but without supporting mods it'll run bad and you won't see any real benefits .... Are you doin the downpipe as well or just cat back ? Plus it's gonna need mapping again when it's fitted . Lots to do really -

Which OE discs and pads for vRS
Bowlesy on boost replied to Funkoid's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)

I know many have listed this before ! Decided to strip the door down earlier and see what I could see ..... Underneath the rubber by the door hinge i have 2 wires broke all together and the rest all have splits showing the copper wire so I think a new door loom is in order !! Has anyone done the same and are they a pain to change ?

k04 turbo conversion mk1 octavia vrs?
Bowlesy on boost replied to Bailey88's topic in Performance & Tuning Upgrades
Hi mate When I searched on here before for the same conversion it's easier to just hybrid the k03s at least it's straight bolt on where the k04 you need different oil lines, manifold, injectors, custom downpipe as well as bigger tip and maf and there's bound to be somat I've forgot !!! If its more power your after why not stage 2 it first and play around with suspension mods ? -
K&N 57i induction kit ?
Bowlesy on boost replied to HelenVrs's topic in Performance & Tuning Upgrades
+1 to Andys comments . Unless its cheap cheap then I would buy it and a cheap ebay cai kit just for the pipe and fitting and use the kn57i filter instead of the cheap one like I did with my pipercross -
Gutted! My new Mk1 Octi VRS has been Crashed
Bowlesy on boost replied to eka567k's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Sounds like a monkey has been playin mechanics with the brakes ! New pads needed and all will be well tbh that spring looks ok to me .. It's awkward coz of the pics but its seated properly and looks complete to me .. -
Lucky sod raf !! Lol I've heard there's a lot of work involved depending on which route to take (thanks to volvomeg for the info ????) And I've been nosey around the forums willy but must have skipped past them ! I've done the wheel arch mod and wondered about a vent in the bumper .. Gonna have a look around for posts on that next me thinks ??
