  1. Had this happen quite a bit, it's a tad annoying and could technically cause an accident rather than prevent one, however I'd rather have front assist on than off. It's done it to me a number of times on approach to the same bend on a NSL road, I think it sees the chevron signs as a vehicle so takes action with the warning beep, message and a sharp tap of the brakes. Also happened on a dual carriageway as the radar seemed to think the car exiting on the rather short, narrow sliproad was directly in front of me, when it wasn't, it applied the brakes very sharply, braking me from 70 to about 50 and could have easily caused me to be rear ended had the road been busier.
  2. Fair enough. Maybe try http://www.thefurnituremarket.co.uk I've no affiliation but have a couple of their rustic oak items and would recommend.
  3. This is the stand, it's not cheap!! - http://www.johnlewis.com/off-the-wall-motion-tv-soundbar-stand-for-tvs-up-to-55-/p231604282?sku=231604282&kpid=231604282&s_kenid=72f763f3-e24e-4798-b34d-0cc2eaea2f21&s_kwcid=402x358338&tmad=c&tmcampid=73
  4. Do you HAVE to wall mount it? A relative has just bought a large 55" (?) Panasonic TV with a purpose built stand which is awesome. It has the soundbar mounted just underneath the TV and has shelves for the Sky / DVD player. Would save some hassle and might look neater with the cables etc?!
  5. That seems good but if we're comparing it to the SE Business it's still missing features such as Sunset Glass & Front & Rear Parking Sensors and as you mention the Amundsen sat nav unit. Pity the SE / SE Business doesn't have Xenons over here!

  7. I'm not going to write the background to this for fear of spoiling the Poll result! I'd be interested in finding out what amount people think is a reasonable administration fee to pay to a leasing company to put a private plate on, or take it off, each charged as a separate transaction. Please don't quote who charges what, I just want to know how much you think is reasonable? Thanks
  8. Bugginbob I'm in the same scenario, habitual car changer, got a lease to stop myself, doesn't stop the boredom setting in though! Had four cars last year, decided enough was enough!! Nick_H, it's not the horses, I can't really put my finger on what it is. The SE Business was the only model within reach for me, lease price wise.
  9. I just turn the radio up now haha. But seriously, sticky Velcro shouldn't be necessary on a new 'premium' car. Kinda wishing I'd got a Mondeo, really not feeling the Superb, bored of it already and 20 months left on the lease :(
  10. Well today, four months and 9 days since I collected my S3, I've received a Skoda Assistance letter and card. I'd been told that recovery was included but I'm shocked that it's taken so long to receive the details officially. Skoda really are **** poor at the whole customer service thing. Assistance is provided free for three years, operator is the AA.
  11. Glovebox and the pull down tray near drivers right knee both vibrate on mine.
  12. OK, I accept what you're saying in general, but my point (as an ACC hater) is that the function you describe does not need the ACC to be activated (by pulling the stalk) it is constantly on.
  13. Yes exactly, hence my comment, it's nothing to do with ACC, as your post title might suggest. Just saying....
  14. You're talking about the Front Assist function, not the ACC, that's why it works with the ACC off.
  15. Would some kind soul with a halogen headlight equipped S3 please post a photo of their dipped headlight beam, with the car parked on the level, around 3 metres from a wall. I'm pretty sure my offside is incorrectly aimed, so a pic of another would assist. Thanks in advance, Pete
  16. For the S & SE yes, not for the SE Business.
  17. It's a standard SE Business feature, has been since launch in the UK.
  18. I have a Superb on lease, if I returned this at the end of the lease with cheap Chinese tyres it would not be acceptable and I'd be charged for their replacement with a similar brand to those fitted when the vehicle left the factory. It should work both ways. What about the ratings for the Michelins that were fitted, I bet the 'Three' tyres aren't as high scoring, maybe go down that route? Have you an email address for the dealer, maybe a few of us from here should let them know how shoddy their attitude is....
  19. They're the first force getting the dog unit demo: http://fleetworld.co.uk/news/2016/Feb/Police-fleets-offered-free-trial-of-new-Skoda-Superb-Estate-dog-patrol-vehicle/0434023858
  20. Yes. Full rearward visibility is compromised without it in my opinion. Some people on here say they value good rearward visibility yet they have no rear wiper and the rear headrests raised to block the view, it's all very subjective. In my experience the water repellant solution actually makes it worse as the beads need vehicle movement to run off properly and they cause localised dirty marks all over the screen when rain dries as opposed to a general layer of dirt without repellant. If you come back to the car in the dark and wet or when there's dew and you need to manoeuvre backwards you'll regret not having it. Also, if you intend to fit a rear facing dash cam and want to be able to read number plates then the wiper is a must. Having had my S3 since November with the wiper missing on collection, I regret accepting the vehicle.
  21. My early order SE Business has the lucky dip extras like elec boot & rear door sun blinds. The LED handle lights in mine are only in the interior door handles.
  22. You were 'saved' by the 'Front Assist' function, not the ACC....
