  1. It's maybe possible but you'd have to cut a suitable hole in the door carrier and door card plus you'd have to wire them up (probably through an amp). It's probably doable bit not sure if it would be worth the hassle
  2. You'll also need speaker rings, the ones made for a mk4 golf work well. And if I recall correctly the biggest you can get on the front doors is 6" but I could be wrong. No point changing the rear ones though, I did and it was a complete waste of time lol Also don't forget to retrieve the little bits of rivet from inside the door after you've drilled out the old speakers or you may get and annoying rattle. Might be worth buying a few door card clips too as they are very brittle and smash to pieces when you get the door card off Hope this helps
  3. I didn't think heat soak on the filter was an issue on turbo engines as when the air gets past the turbo it will be hot anyway? But it doesn't matter as it's then cooled by the intercooler?
  4. like I said I've been impressed with my panel filter and even though it's a foam filter I haven't noticed any particles getting through and I've had the intake pipe off a few times now so maybe it's just the ram air ones? I guess I'll keep looking lol thanks for the input mate
  5. Pretty sure it always goes to the blue and white wire on the din connector
  6. I'm not too worried about them sucking in warm air as it gets super heated by the turbo anyway and I have a fmic to bring it back down. I am still on the fence about cone filters in general though That doesn't sound too promising, have you had experience with ram air filters sepulchrave?
  7. hi guys i'm currently running a pipercross panel filter and pd160 intake (previous owner put these in) and although i'm happy with how its performing and i know there will be no noticeable performance increase by changing the filter. i just want a little more noise from the front. so been looking at cone filters, really don't like the look of the s2000 ones and the traditional oiled filters (k and n) have a tenancy to mess the maf sensors up. so has anyone had any experience with the ram air foam filters? what are your opinions on them? being dry foam filters do they let any small particles of dust through? thanks all opinions welcome
  8. Overboosting doesn't cause limp mode in most cases, so my money would be on stickey veins. However you may have a boost leak as well
  9. The main reason that people say that standard panel filters are no good over a certain bhp is because the turbo when it's creating enough boost to hit those figures has a tendency to suck them in on themselves. Cone filters can take a lot more pressure
  10. Hi mate, I had a similar issue to this when I first got my vrs but it would lag and then dump some smoke then I'd get loads of boost all at once. Turned out to be overboosting caused by clogged veins in the turbo. I ended up taking it apart completely but there are turbo cleaners designed specifically for this job so they should work well. Anyway ever since it was cleaned out the rumbling and sound has been much more subtle however it is still there. You can easily check for overboosting by running a boost log in group 11 if you have vcds. Might not be your problem at all but worth checking. Hope this helps
  11. Before you go hunting for the microswitch it might be worth pulling back the rubber gator that goes from door to car. This has all the wiring running through it and has been known for wires to break and cause strange issues (might be worth checking drivers side too)
  12. Try searching alternator load sensor wire, there's loads of topics and info on it. However it might not be your problem but it's a good place to start
  13. What colour is the smoke mate? Black smoke on hard acceleration would point more towards boost leak or sticky veins in your turbo. Or a lighter, bluey smoke means it's burning oil from somewhere, possibly turbo seals
  14. I'm having the same problem since fitting my hids (low beam only) however mine is quite rare. I also suspect voltage issue as they draw a lot when you first turn them on. Haven't got round to checking wiring yet though
  15. Ok thanks mate, are there any deep gouges or is it just surface marks?
  16. Hi mate Do you have the centre caps for these? And could you take a close up pic of the damage please Thanks
  17. I'm also interested in the full system. Let me know if the sale falls through
  18. Hi mate Still haven't received the brakes. When did you send them? And do you have a tracking number? Thanks
  19. Mine used to do this as it had the wrong clip for that connector (they are different for each connection) it should have one bent end point one way and the other pointing the opposite way.
  20. I think you'll have to get the level sensor mapped out as I'm pretty sure the shallow sumps don't have a hole for the sensor
  21. Just done a little search and looks like they will bolt straight on with existing hoses so I'll take them mate, pm me you PayPal and I'll send you the money
  22. Haha great minds and all that. They look pretty good to me, do they come with the hoses too or will my fabia vrs ones fit ok?
