Lowering Options - MK2 Fabia vRS
bobnaldo replied to VRS-Powered's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
What do people think? The Eibach springs or the VWR ones, which is more compliant? Thank you -
Thank you, considering my Fabia isn't getting built for another week I'm all sorted.
-
Facelift Fabia?
-
Balls, with the canbus thing will it work fine? If not, I'll chuck it back on ebay.
-
How do I know if its the old shape? Its from a brand new Superb
-
Its from a Superb, so should match ok.

New updates for Fabia 2013 Mk2
bobnaldo replied to Leon-y-k's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Changes are on the configurator now, can see the new steering wheel and gearknob. At the back there is Skoda on the left and on the right Fabia with VRS underneath. -
Thanks for all the advice. Decided to go for the Eibach springs first and then the RARB. Once the handling is sorted, I'll get looking at sorting the power.

Picking up Black Magic VRS on Tues!
bobnaldo replied to abovethresh's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Jealous, mine's still on order. When did you order yours? -
Race engine was only so I could fit the ITG Maxogen off the Polo.
-
Is the tuning box warranty safe? Any recommendations on the RARB? Thank you

Budget is flexible, I don't want to spend loads but if a few hundred quid here and there improve the car I'll do it. Main concerns are not making the ride much harsher, and not invalidating my warranty on the engine, heard there could be issues with it??

Hello Fabia VRS on order and already planning some mods after reading a lot of posts on here. However I am utterly useless at anything mechanical so would need to pay for them to be installed. Firstly thinking of replacing the battery for a race battery, any idea how much this would cost fitted? The reason is mainly for the second mod, but also to save weight as I would then look to remove the rear weights to keep the balance of the car? Removing weight from the front and rear of the car shouldn't upset the balance to much?? Second mod once space has been freed up under the bonnet is to fit the ITG Maxogen from the Polo GTI. Would doing either of these impact the warranty? Thank you

Bolero is £150, Columbus is £400 odd and already got a TomTom so didn't see the point. Wasn't sure about fitting the GPS too?
-
Anyone done this?
-
Try and talk her into a VRS?? Have a look on drivethedeal and you can get them without options for £13,700??
-
Yep £200 is what my Golf cost me for the DSG service, a guy at work with an S5 paid £400 for his DSG service. Hopefully Skoda is cheaper....

I have a DSG box in my golf and its superb, to the point where I wouldn't buy another car without DSG. On the slight hesitation point, I can understand why they say this as they only test drive it for a short time. At first when doing slow manouevours I found it would hesitate and then suddenly go, which isn't great when parallel parking. However this only took a couple of weeks to get used too and then you learn to feather the brake better and it's no longer an issue for me. Other things to bear in mind. Needs a DSG oil change every 40,000 miles which is £200. Need to be smoother with the throttle out of junctions or it'll kick down a gear. Sticking to the speed limit is harder as it changes up so smoothly you forget what gear you're in. Hope that helps.

New Car in but have to wait 2 weeks!
bobnaldo replied to mstafford1986's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I think you're right, whenever i pick up my diesel golf up from my VW dealer I pick it up with the ave MPG at 25mpg and it takes ages for that to get back up to around 35mpg. For comparison I struggle to get it below 40mpg when driving with a little spirit, so christ knows what they're doing it to. Last time did make me actually laugh as I took it in for a creaking noise, how they managed to listen for that when screaming the nuts off it. -
Working out how much it is worth
bobnaldo replied to conanius's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
From my experience extras add pretty much nothing to a pix value as dealers all use the glasses guide which doesn't really go into optional extras. My view on spec'ing a car is only get the things that you're going to get value from over your ownership period with the expectation you'll get nothing back for them in the end. -
Fitting a Bolero into a Fabia?
bobnaldo replied to bobnaldo's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
I thought the Octavia one was a different shape and the Superb was a straight swop?
