  1. Looks identical to the one I put in my Fabia, I think the one that doesn't fit has white lettering on the front. Very easy job, just plugged and played, bluetooth, Maxidot etc all worked great. Big improvement on the interior I think, especially if you have the new steering wheel and gearstick as it matches the shiny black on these.
  2. I normally do a year tops, trying with the VRS to get to two years.
  3. i find px valuations swing wildly, years ago BMW Warrington offered me £15.5k for my GTI and BMW Leeds offered me £17.5k.
  4. I got offered £11.5k against a Clio 200T at the end of Oct but decided to keep the Fabia, then doing a what car check the other day and they gave me a px guide price of £10.6k. It just depends on the dealer you're buying from, I think with the Clio they were offering above book to get the deal as those cars aren't shifting.
  5. Just seeing what my 9 month old VRS is worth and it's coming out about £10.5k to px, reckon it'll be down to £10k when it's 12 months old. So that's £4.5k depreciation in 12 months (£14.5k new), but then I reckon it'll only lose another £2k in year 2 and maybe £1.5k in year 3. It does seem steep in year 1, but then there are no other costs, in years 2 & 3 I'll have to start paying for tyres, brakes etc. However compared to my wife's Countryman SD its doing ok, bought that 12 months old and I reckon it's lost £5.5k in 1 year.
  6. Hi I waited just short of 4 months for mine at the start of the year. Depends what options you'd like, but generally you're much better ordering things at the factory build than retro fit later. Welcome to the forum. Rob
  7. Mines a 13 plate, it used a lt after 4,500 and a further lt after another 2,000. Spoke to the dealer when I picked up some oil and they won't touch it till it's a lt every 600 miles. The performance economy mix of the engine is great, however I think they just tuned it too much to 180bhp. If you can accept the oil into the running costs of the car and you enjoy it then I think you have to accept it. I panicked when the oil light came on again and considered changing cars and for the money there is still nothing out there that compares.
  8. Mine has now used 2lt in 6,500 miles from new, bit annoying. Last 1lt was in 2,000 miles as well.
  9. I think I need to watch fast and the furious tonight for inspiration.
  10. Just to confirm Adrian Flux did indeed beat that price so I'll be taking up their quote. They are also much more mod friendly for when I get my car lowered.
  11. I just did a comparethemarket without modifications and then phoned the cheapest to ask about the RARB and then said no problem. So I wanted to take it out while they had recorded my call confirming a RARB was no issue and they would cover it. However I've replied to Dan@AdrianFlux and if he can come in cheaper I'll take out his insurance, and I'll phone SkyInsurance tomorrow.
  12. Mine has used 1lt in 6,000 miles, which cost £14 to replace. It's a stonking engine, 40+mpg when driving to work, yet rapid when driving home.
  13. Managed to get insured with Esure with no additional cost for the modification, all the bargain price of £237 with a free meerkat!!! Apologies Dan & SkyInsurance, I'm not sure you could have beaten that price?
  14. Thank you, I'll get shopping around tomorrow. Was hoping to get this years premium for £250 but might have to pay a little more. Mods are just RARB for now, with lowering springs to follow.
  15. Hi Any recommendations for car insurance for modified VRS's? Current compare the market quotes are £100 higher for modified which seems high. Thank you Rob
  16. With two exceptions, I kept mine under the recommended RPM when running it in, then it used 1 litre of oil and none since.
  17. Just like to echo sharkrider's comments, had mine 7 months and done 6,000 miles. Used 1l of oil between 2,000-4,000 miles but that's it, other than the engine is a peach 40mpg easy and it's pretty quick, although if it was a little older I'd be mapping it. Handling isn't great, but the RARB makes a world of difference, can't wait to get the Eibach's on to complete it. Agreed with the interior being a bit rattly, mine has an annoying sweet wrapper noise near the light switch, but then I remember its £250 a month on a 3 year PCP with 10% deposit and what other quick automatic could i get for that?
  18. My renewal is £250, which I think it pretty reasonable considering how I drive it.
  19. The interior seems to have a lot going on too, but doesn't seem to be of the highest quality. How did you find the gearbox?
  20. Saw one the other day and thought it looked quite smart. Since it's the only automatic 5 door rival outside of the other VAG products, I wondered how it compared?
  21. How do you find the Eibach's compared to stock?
  22. Really good, big improvement. Next step springs, tempted to sneak in on the H&R ones and get those guys to fit them. It still leans a bit more than I'd like under hard cornering even though it's holding the line much better.
  23. Yeah they said this would be the best option as then the RARB wouldn't move at all and would give the best results. They tune track cars, so know what they're doing, but this was a little extreme for a 6 month old Fabia. Great garage though if anyone is looking for mods around Warrington.
  24. Had my RARB (purchased through the group buy) fitted today, not really had chance to test it fully but the car seems to corner a lot flatter and with more turn in. Thanks to Sparkly for setting up the group buy.
