  1. replaced my blowing 'cooler for a new one thanks to Mr DanHam. untill some old **** decided it would be funny to park in front of me rather than the hundreds of other spaces around me in the car park...
  2. there is always going to be a faint hiss or whoosh, they run high pressure (1.2 bar) so expect a bit of noise. only be concerned if its REALLY loud. Dont do a half arsed job. spend 10 minutes taking your bumper off and right light out to have a dig around. get someone else to help you too by revving now and then. Check that your intercooler isnt blowing at the bottom and pipes, bottom pancake pipe to the turbo, and the upper pipes. Dont forget the pressure box makes a slight noise too. all else fails, smoke test.
  3. What! When i was under 21 i had a crappy mk4 fiesta ah well, be proud mate thats a damn good car you've got yourself there.
  4. Yup! so true. hard shoulder saves you bags of time in a traffic jam.
  5. i know he's got a Northern accent but this makes my day every time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5dL4DPm-DE if you've never seen it before, your welcome.
  6. You'll know a boost leak by a hissing sound and as said if you do the smoke test you'll find it. the pipes are crap and the metal bungs wear down after a while. when you come on and off boost they move about and wear. **** design really. I've got a MASSIVE boost leak coming from a hole in the cooler. puffs out a lot of black smoke when i put my foot down so thats another sign. i only get about 44mpg on B roads too.
  7. I'll flash and if they dont move i'll undertake. done give a single **** if its illegal its more dangerous to stick behind someone who doesn't know the rules of the road if you ask me.
  8. stop taking it seriously! what else do the french make thats good? ...exactly...
  9. try resetting your gear selectors. i never had a crunch but its certainly made things more smooth and free flowing. its a bit of a fiddly job as you have to take out the plastic intake system, battery and casing to get to the linkage. linkypoo's:
  10. I'd put my money on a boost leak. what kind of remap did you get? if it increased boost levels it might have caused a leak in your pipes as the bungs wear down from excessive movement. check your intercooler as well for a hole. worse case scenario its your turbo thats giving up.
  11. you could replace the boost pipes with silicone hoses from the likes of samco but its really costly. looks good and keeps it from ever leaking though!
  12. Thanks for the compliments! she cleans it religiously with £££'s worth of products. It does seem to handle a lot better!
  13. have a look in the for sale section and ebay. If not, take a trip to your local scrappy and see if there is a golf/ferby there.
  14. fitted some 35mm springs with jens bro on wednesday to the focus. rides much better! from this: to this:
  15. Why not stick up some better pictures? sounds like a cool couple of mods fitted. Ignor the ones trying to make a funny. Good way to introduce someone to a forum...
  16. might pop along to my first briskoda meet to meet you all just depends on work
  17. I ran without the vac pipe connected for a while and it gave me a weird juddering under 2k for some reason but i dont know if that was the reason. suppose its to do with the pressure box which deals with the turbo so might have something to do with it.
  18. Is it worth considering taking it back? You're able to within 3 months of buying a car from a dealer. never know what they might have missed or hidden.
