Wiring loom; Used Car Warranty
Blimey, if I'd known that, I wouldn't have wasted my money on the diagnosis. Should've asked on here first!

Wiring loom; Used Car Warranty
Thanks Pete. So I need to have a search on here for wiring loom repair?

Wiring loom; Used Car Warranty
Think I've answered my own question by going back to the warranty booklet; Components & failures not covered Electrical connections, LED's LCD's, all internal & external lamps, wiring looms and batteries. So, how difficult would a self repair be? Is the affected wiring loom coming from the fuse box? Maybe, a single wire into the door could be rejoined with bullet connectors or similar?

Wiring loom; Used Car Warranty
I took my Fabia to a VAG indie today for diagnosis of the inoperative passenger side electric door mirror. I have an Autoguard Premium used car warranty that expires today (though when I called Autoguard last week they kindly gave me an extra 7 days). They diagnosed a fault with the wiring loom on that side and they have contacted Autoguard to see if they will authorise a claim and are now waiting for a reply. Only the diagnosis, not the repair needs to be done before the warranty expires. The warranty specifically states that it covers electric window motors and switches but I've a horrible feeling they're going to turn down the claim, as it's neither of those. Does anyone have any experience regarding wiring looms and warranty cover. The quote was approx £265 inc 1.5hrs labour. I've already paid £60 for the diagnosis (reading the warranty booklet, if they accept the claim, they will pay for diagnosis (so I should get it back), otherwise they won't).

Help Sourcing Exhaust
Just (2 weeks ago) had this done on my Fabia TSi. The trusted garage I use for MOT's charged me £28.14 + VAT for genuine sleeve and clamps and £10+VAT for labour. Felt ripped off at the time (having seen the sleeve online for £10) but I guess it's the price you pay for genuine parts. Probably would've got away with just fitting new clamps on reflection as the sleeve itself looked OK.

Strange one
So, does that mean we should change both sides when finding a single leaking wheel cylinder?

Should I do my own servicing - 2012 Fabia TSi
22/04/22 62,760mls Service (and MOT) Engine Oil Oil Filter Air Filter 12/04/23 73,700mls Service (and MOT) Engine Oil Oil Filter Air Filter Repairs O/s Lower Arm Antifreeze (spelt Anti Freeze) top up Balance wheels Tracking Useful exercise this, as it's prompted me to look at last plugs change, which was 23/05/16 (24,849 mls) 😲 by a Ford garage. I know they're long life and expensive, but that's maybe taking it a bit far. Had a new turbo and actuator in 2020, £1200😲. Edit: The one gap in the service history is 2020 and according to the grid @Rooted posted above, that was the year for the 2nd plug change, so despite stamping the book in 2021, and therefore having sight of it, the same garage that did the last two services, missed (or ignored) the requirement for a plug change.

Should I do my own servicing - 2012 Fabia TSi
I bought the car in Sept 2023. It has a mainly Full Service History via invoices passed on to me and a stamped service book (not main dealer or VAG Indie). I can do my own servicing; have trolley jack, socket sets, electric impact wrench, torque wrench etc. Obviously, it would be cheaper (local indie charges £148, £210, £285 for Interim, Full, Major Service) but I don't feel fully committed to the car (overly light steering, somehow it's a bit dull to drive despite impressive power from the 1.2 Turbo engine). How would a prospective future owner view my 'own servicing'. Also, I'm sceptical of garages. The last service bill (Apr 2023) included replacement of the off side front suspension arm and included just £10 for tracking. I took the car for a wheel alignment check 2 weeks ago (NS slightly too much toe in, OS too much toe out) and the guy said he could see where they'd marked the track rods before dismantling, so I reckon this was their idea of tracking, yet the garage gets 5 stars on Google reviews.

Thanks @Breezy_Pete No, it was just folded up. Here's another photo I took same day (it's horizontal though, so not easy to see);

Thanks for your posts @xman Is this the a/c drain pipe?

Fabia 2 screen misting up
Hi Pete, No, there was no rain that day. Maybe the lesson is to heat the screen before sending any heat to the feet. Also, maybe the cooling system water wasn't warm enough to be sending heat to the feet, as I'd only just started off from the supermarket and had only driven a short distance from mum's house before that. Although why would that mist the screen up?

Fabia 2 screen misting up
Thanks for your reply @xman. So, maybe there's nothing wrong with the air con? What about the above when the air con was off?

Fabia 2 screen misting up
oops! Looks like 2018 is the last charge for one on the invoices that were passed on to me and ref'd in the service book. I get the impression a lot of garages don't bother as it's often not part of the service schedule. Might also get one of these air con cleansers that you use inside the car.

Fabia 2 screen misting up
I bought my Fabia 2 in Sept 2023. It’s the first car I’ve had with Air Con (Manual). Symptoms; If I have the air con on speed 1 from the start of a journey the screen stays clear. If I then go to a supermarket or visit my elderly mother, when I get back to the car there is a light misting on the screen. When I operate the air con (engine on) the misting initially gets worse then slowly clears. Last Thursday, I didn’t use the air con, went shopping, came back to the car and the screen was clear. Then I randomly thought, what happens if I turn the Air Distribution dial to feet, turn the Control dial to hot and turn the Blower switch to 3 with the Air Con off; the screen started misting up so badly I had to stop and open the front windows and turned Air Distribution dial to screen, which cleared the misting. Other factors (relating to what I’ve read on here); There is no water in the spare wheel well. I regularly open all the doors to allow water to drain away (thanks Skoda!). I can’t feel any wet carpets either on the front passenger side or the driver’s side. The cabin filter is not wet. Last Thursday, I was about to attempt to remove the wiper arms and plastic scuttle cover, when I decided to first try the suggestion on here from an Octavia owner to remove a wheel arch liner to check that water drains through. I did this and water drained into the container I placed under the car (also drained through a hole in a plastic protector attached to the floorpan). So I guess the drains are clear? This morning I went to check that condensate drain was clear, expecting to see a flap as shown in Breezy Pete’s post on this thread https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/520270-mistingfogging-windows/ but I only have what Ethanthecarknownothing shows in his photo, just a pipe sticking out (with a single dead spider over it), so no flap to check (I have two photos if needed) and Breezy Pete suggests I would have to wait for a warm day to see water coming out of that pipe. So, what can I do next please?

Ordered this one after prompt reply to my enquiry confirmed suitability. Thanks again xman.

Lost wheel nut key
Thanks xman. Just to be clear, I did use the wheel nut key to get the wheel off (twice) but must have left it on the bolt and driven off the last time. If it is a 776, I was wondering about this listing, as my car came without any wheel nut covers (bar 5 left in the boot); https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256377841187?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=kbuWRIALRz6&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Looking at the bolts being sold as part of the lot, it does look very like mine. The wheel nut covers that were left in the boot are part number 321 601 173 B and 4FO 601 173 A for the locking nuts. Car came without any polystyrene insert but did have a spacesaver spare and an unused VAG tyre inflater.

Lost wheel nut key
Yet another of these threads I can almost hear you say. Car is a 2012 Fabia 1.2 105. Had a puncture in my near side rear tyre (2.3 Bar down to 0.8Bar) which I took for repair last Monday. Came out to look at it last Friday and it was completely flat. I took the wheel off (it was difficult as I'd parked the near side up against a wall and there wasn't even enough space to get the jack handle in, so I had to use a screwdriver to turn the jack) put 1 Bar in to check the tyre would re-shape, then took it back to the tyre repair shop. They could find no leak from the tyre after inflating it to required pressure and dunking it in the tyre bath then spraying it with leak revealer. Presumably, someone had let all the air out (sabotage). When I got back, I couldn't find the locking wheel nut key; I must have left it on the bolt and driven off. Took everything out of the car, used a torch to look under the seats, door pockets, glove box etc. Looked all over the road where I park and on the main road, where I even found someone else's locking wheel bolt😒. Here's a photo of one of the locking bolts; Do I just need one of these, i.e. a 52/7pt as referred to on similar threads; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144800175250?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=nHW1_fTIQ6a&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
