  1. Whether it will come with 7 seats, I don't know, but I believe this will be a MY 2014 car and its project name is 'Snowman' (final name TBD) I disagree with Graham - it's not specific to the Chinese market.
  2. Sorry, only just seen your post. Not fitted yet but I did order drawer, along with boot light & sunglasses holder, before I got the car. Haven't fitted the drawer yet, but hope to get it done in the next day or two. I'll post back if I discover any hints or tips not already covered.
  3. Thanks, but I don't think I'd ever hand over any cash to do it. Mine was fitted at factory for £175 (in the stupid position of lower cubby hole) & it might just be the case that the wiring will reach the top tray. As I now know that it all works, I might have a look one day to see if I can re-route it - at least I don't need any coding doing, it's just a (simple?) case of re-routing the wiring, maybe I might need an extension cable at most? I would either need a new lower cubby hole housing or need to fashion some sort of blanking plate, but it's something on the to-do list.
  4. I'm very jealous - that's where my ipod lives each time I disconnect it - if only I could leave it connected in situ
  5. That's definitely new Marie. I guess this will please a lot of prospective owners & p off quite a few existing owners who wanted it but couldn't have it.
  6. Too true, but I fear that it goes beyond the web team & more in IT spend generally. In the good old days, Skoda published good, up to date, lists of what phones had been tested with the bluetooth & detailed any shortcomings - likewise for the various ipod models with the MDI (not such a problem with the 'traditional' socket, but Rapid owners have been left a bit stumped with the new USB interface). It's typical of companies these days that they ask for detailed feedback on their dealers, but don't invite comment on their own shortcomings.
  7. My (rather late) contribution is: Sound System - I'm no audiophile so didn't so much go for it for improved mid-range etc. but more for the options it opens up on the Bolero. These are an equalizer (doesn't really concern me as I listen to a wide range of music, so leave it on linear - might be more use if you are a fan of a particular type of music) and also a surround sound optimiser (driver only, front seats only, or whole car) - this, for me, makes it worth the money alone as there's no faffing around with fader & balance controls (they're still there, of course, should you need them). It might be worth checking out if you get the same advantages with the Amundsen. Life Shine - I bought a kit (PDI only - not the take-away goodies) for about £17 from E-Bay & can echo what Eccleshill has said, in that the Bodywork Gloss Shield is simply the best thing I have applied to any car. It's dead easy to apply & water beads off it like nothing else I've ever seen. Whether you want to pay someone else to apply it can only be your call, but I would recommend its use. Edit, P.S: I was originally very cynical that the Life Shine 'Gloss Shield' was just a re-named version of the retail 'Extra Gloss Protection' but, having used both, I can confirm that the Life Shine version appears (to me) far superior. Edit, P.P.S: Brokers: Please note that DTD no longer offer Skodas - whether this is due to Skoda's action or theirs, I've no idea. It will mean that the remaining brokers will benefit from greater volumes (& perhaps be able to offer even greater discounts) - I wonder if this will also cause them issues with vehicle allocations???
  8. As Andy says, a minute or less. You have the choice of leaving the whole thing in, just putting it in when you need it, or leaving just the crossbar in place and adding one or both of the fork clamps as required.
  9. I've had the internal carrier for nearly 5 years & it has been one of the best things I've ever bought. Please bear in mind, that my comments below may not be relevant if the design has changed (though I don't think it has). I should first point out, that I generally use mine for holiday trips where I remove all the back seats (don't have kids). You don't need to have any seats removed in order to keep the holder permanently installed as the holder doesn't protrude into the seat area. You do get a more stable set-up though, the more seats are removed (or at least folded forward). This is because the system relies on a clamp around the seat post(s) with straps/hooks going to the seat fixings in the floor - the more seats you have out/up, the wider you can make the base of the 'triangle', & the more stable the bike(s). For the same reason, the rack may not be the best solution if you want the bikes to the side of the boot, so think carefully about whether it's really for you before splashing the cash.
  10. I might look at buying some 3M sheets & wrapping them myself - it's good protection if nothing else. The seats are a no cost option - the SE spec offers a choice of Onyx/Silver or Onyx/Blue.
  11. Could be worse! If it was every 1k miles it would be like Groundhog Day meets The Magic Rounabout
  12. Maybe I'll wrap one mirror - give it the Micky Jackson white glove look Actually, I like the bandaged head look - I'm delighted if nobody else likes it, my car will always stay unique. (It's gone full circle - repeat after me: "We're all individual") ("I'm not")
  13. (Hopefully), this will show some piccys of my Shark Blue with white roof SE:
  14. I think saying a fire risk would be going too far, but there is, in my view, a slight chance of increased temperatures.
  15. As a matter of interest, does your car have the (sound) insulation under the bonnet? It may have no bearing, and I know the consensus is that Skoda only dropped it for cost reasons - hearing about the HT problems though, did make me change my mind about purchasing the after-market insulation, just in case.
  16. Oops! I hope you don't think I was having a go at you. I have every sympathy in the way you feel & why you felt you couldn't continue - I might have reacted in the same way. I was just trying to point out that you can't sue for breach of contract if the final decision (however justified) was yours.
  17. See my post above - it wasn't Simpsons who finally pulled out. The Sales Manager may have acted like an @r5e, but the last representation from the company was to go ahead & try to restore faith.
  18. Well I'll leave it to the legal eagles to debate about breach of contract, but there are a couple of important points here: You can only sue for your loss - that's hard to quantify, what financial loss has occurred? Is it worth the cost of legal proceedings? The last position was that the franchise owner offered to sell the car, Dinski declined. That makes what the Sales Manager did or didn't do history.
  19. Not likely! 'Local' papers have one aim in common - to fill in the space between adverts. They love you to take on public bodies, but not paying advertisers.
  20. They may have the right, but probably a suicidal move for them? I don't purport to know the car industry, but I was under the impression that there are plenty of car dealers out there pleading for a Skoda franchise (the latest Which? & Auto Express surveys have probably strengthened this) but Skoda have to ensure that they are geographically separated. Let's hope that some more customer-focused operation get to take their place.
  21. Astonished! I guess the sales manager will soon be looking for a new job? I'm aware that SUK demand very high standards from their dealers & that even 'satisfied' is not considered a good response from SUK - they want 'very satisfied' in every case - can't blame them. BUT, surely SUK's involvement should have at least as much, if not more, of an effect on their bonus/commission. If I worked for SUK, a dealer refusing to sell an ordered car to a customer would be the immediate end to their franchise - no question!
  22. I need to go & look at some older Yetis to be sure, but I think Skoda may have made an alteration to the A-pillar covers. On my 2013 SE, the cover stands well proud of the screen, forming a gutter - just like my Roomster did. It does taper down to almost nothing at the top though, so a little bit of water escapes to the top of side window, not in the mirror region though. (Of course, it still drips water everywhere when you open the door though - wouldn't be a Skoda if it didn't!)
  23. It's OK thanks, I think I prefer the 'dirty' tan finish. Also, although I said it was the perfect size, these type of boxes need plenty of ice packs and/or ice to work well, so i might go for the 23L model - just got to get the tape measure out before deciding.
  24. Wow that's cool (pun intended) You've just answered my prayers for a good cool box of the correct size - expensive but I would get a lot of use out of it. (I promise not to buy the only white one in stock though )
  25. There is indeed, but that's mainly due to the owners rating its performance, braking, & handling so highly. It was 88th for build quality!
