BBC NEWS | England | Money saving hybrid cars

Now that sounds appealing.

Wonder what the cost is for a conversion?

The trouble is that I guess it will be hugely expensive.

I spend about £1750 a year (current price) on petrol - most mornings I'm making a cold start into stop start city traffic and afternoons is a warm engine into the same city traffic. This part of my journey kills my economy, especially the winter mornings but a hybrid type setup might help me considerably.

Even if I could make that 30% saving they claim that's £500 per year. Would you really expect a hybrid conversion kit plus fittng to cost less than £1500 which would be the 3 year pay back?

It cost nearly that much to replace my front bumper and air con condenser on insurance nevermind some new technology.

Hmm! Wonder how they integrate the motor to the drive train?

Another matter, altogether; the alloys look brilliant. What are they?
