Octavia VRS...To ESP or not to ESP?

Featured Replies

hmm, just seen another thread. Could be ASR on the switch. Cant be bothered to go look now.

The SkodaAuto provide a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on new vehicles. SkodaAutoUK provides further warranty on new vehicles provided by them through their dealer network until 60,000 miles or the end of the third year, whichever is the sooner. I haven't a clue about the reliability of xenon headlight components, and the warranty doesn't cover fair wear and tear. My point is that expensive components are involved and replacements in the longer term could involve some big bills. A relatively minor accident involving headlight damage could also be rather expensive to fix. That said, those that have xenons love them.

Aye - I do. I did some research on the expected lifetime of Xenon components before I bought mine, and the quote seemed to be "for the lifetime of the car" (I'll see if I can find the article again). If all of those components were to go, Denis, I'd assume you had had a pretty bad frontal impact. The only thing that would concern me is replacement of the headlamp lenses if they get too pock-marked by gravel rash.

You pays your money....
