Bye bye cheap tacky badges...

Featured Replies

whts the best/ safest way to take it off with out damaging?

Hot airgun / hot water. In both cases if too hot it will peel the paint too.

I just pulled my badges off by hand and VERY carefully with a chisel, i didn't touch the paint at all, just got the sharp edge under the edge of the badges to lift them enough to get a finger grip, pulling away from the paintwork so that any slip doesn't end in disaster.

Tar remover, cotton cloth and megs polish were enlisted to clean the area afterwards.

Chisel!?!

I find when removing badges the easiest way is with a hairdryer and an old credit card, and then polishing the area after. No damage, guaranteed!

DISCLAIMER: The no damage guarantee doesn't actually apply just going by my previous work. Anyone who feels they may try and use this guarantee to wangle something out of me may need their head removing from their rear end and be slapped with a wet fish.

I used a hair dryer to gently warm mine up, then a really thin wallpaper scraper, with an MF cloth wrapped round it to get the first edge away from the paint, then i just used my fingers to pull it off, and tar remover to remove the left over glue.
