I have driven a 182 clio flat out through the low gears and it will murder a standard vrs, a remap closes the gap a bit but clio is still quicker as long as you keep it above 5000rpm, drives a bit like a type r in that respect, they would get owned by a my old remapped octy vrs though .

I wouldn't have thought so, in my run ins with a 182 they've never "Left me for dead". They were faster, sure, but not much in it

It matters because i've grown accustomed to being the one with the best car, we all have our things and that's mine :P

Well they aint driving the clio properly. The clio 182 would destroy a standard fabia... fact.

But you will still have the best car. Just cos its not the fastest doesnt make it any worse.

Er, what's one of them, then? By 'break' (brake?), do you mean estate? If so, the most it would have had was 130bhp like yours. Then there's the fact that newer vRSes (06+) have the BLT engine, which often puts out a good 15-20% more power than 'standard', in which case even if it was a 150bhp hatch, you might have been driving a more powerful car anyway??? :confused:

Just realized that he hasn't paid the car off fully, so I'm guessing the gap insurance will only cover him for how much of the car he's paid off, which isn't near £10k, so no worries for me, he'll prolly end up with another Corsa

My last car was a GTI Anni, the 1.8T which was 180bhp as std, I fitted a full stainless system (including 3' downpipe), forge valve and a Pipercross induction kit, it was awesome!! I still miss it a bit now! But my Furby is a company car, so I can't complain.... Performance wise I think the Furby would have now problems keeping up through the twisties, even off the mark, it was higher up the rev range the Golf would have the legs....

I have done a few timings with a few cars, 60-100mph so here's a few comparisons.

A PD 130 with just a remapp will do 60-100 in 10.5-11 secs.

A standard 2.0TFSI ( my own vRS and same engine as a Golf GTI V) will do it in approx 8.3 ish secs. So a fabia with just a map will lose.

A PD130 with a hybrid turbo ( my old one ) did it in 7.5-7.7 ish secs. A civic type R can do it in approx 8.1 ish secs.

My now remapped vRS 2.0TFSI does it in 6.9-7.0 secs.

really..... i used to own a Gt tdi 150 before my fabia and it was faster than the fabia ! a video of the speedo on my phone to 140 on private land shows this compaired to my fabia ! so im guesing the guy proberly had a 115 or a 130

My PD150 Bora was a monster...... slightly laggier than a 130 but breathed and pulled so much better top end.

lol at this thread,i dusted god knows what this weekend,including a mk2 octy putting down 285bhp,i am a pants driver,and i was using no more than a re mapped se,my mods make me look good,my car was eating all sorts and as for the other cars not trying,try telling that to the new age imprezza sti owner who tried following me through the karrusell after i passed him on the aproach,he didn't make it,so i conclude all se's have ace handling and all the others are pants,no cleo 172,182 or 192 came past me,and i went past plenty of them,did a few of those megans too:D
