Waterfall, River, Dog and lots of wetness!

Featured Replies

Today I went to Hardraw Force waterfall to take some pics for my exam. As you may or may not notice, I have now invested in a polarizing filter and an ND filter. All started out very well and here are a few photos of the waterfall :)

When we got to it there wasn't a soul in sight, then some old people appeared and walked right infront of my camera, then another photographer arrived, then another, then a bus load of kids (I hate kids!) then another group of old people!!

My baby doggy :)

She snuk in the river when no one was watching and started swimming round. I went for a little paddle with her but she's nearly sixteen now, so she got a bit worn out and thats when disaster struck! She was trying to climb out, but couldn't, slipped on the rocks and was falling back in, so I ended up jumping in the ice cold river to rescue the dog! lol! I don't know, the things you do for animals, eh?

Yeah, she's ace infront of a camera, always has been. She's so bonny

Dog pic #1 & pic 4 on the second post are particularly good (the others are good too, but these 2 stand out IMO)

BTW, what's a ND filter?

Cheers

Lance

Nice pics. Like the water effect. That using a slow shutter speed?

  • Author

Yeah, slow shutter with ND filter :)

I dont think the water was very cold.

I dont think the water was very cold.

Agree. No obvious clues to it's coldness was there?;)

*Sigh* As previously mentioned elsewhere Mr Gooch, I had accustomed to it by then and there was no breeze down where I was so it was quite warm. when I flung myself in after the dog, however, I couldn't actually breathe lol

Nikon D80 with 18-135 lens. waterfall pics done with ND filter, some others with polarizer, some with both lol.

I was waiting for people to post some crude posts! How immature!

One thing to say about that.......

Joking aside. Those pics are excellent and I know nothing about photography and still love them.
