Just been chatting with Doug (Dougal) about tyres ( and big thanks to him for coming over with his Vag-Com gear, v. happy now!!).

Checked out mytyres and found some that caught my eye...the vredsteins look seriously tasty for grip/noise/wear, followed a close second by the nokian NRVi.....given that the vred won't be avialble till july and the current state of wear, probably going to go for the Nokian's.......and i'll buy s set for the Passat too .

BUt...

i understand all the section and profile bits, as well as speed and load ratings which all check out..... 195/65 R15 91V... all good, but then....."XL"

whats that all about then?????? :confused: :confused:
