Thank you !

I live in Tromsø, in the north of Norway, where snow covers the ground from October to May. My girlfriend was born in Prague though, so I visit the Czech Republic quite often. As you all know there's a lot of Skodas there. But they are also very popular here in Norway, especially the 4x4-1.9 TDI Octavia since its 4x4 and relatively cheap.

Jostein

Welcome :D

Glad I asked where you were from! I've been to Tromso several times (but only in summer :) ) Beautiful place  and the midnight sun is something else (or was that the price of your alcohol :D )

Guess the 4 x 4 will be useful in winter. Once again, welcome to Briskoda.

Hello & welcome :)

Twice on vacation and once for business. The last one was when I and my team were making BBC documentaries on a voyage from Spitzbergen round the Arctic Circle via Iceland to Disko Bay in western Greenland. We had a day and night to wait for the plane in Tromso before flying up to Longyearbyen. On the voyage we landed on Bear Island and Jan Myen - both very dramatic!

Hope to return to Tromso again, perhaps on the Hurtigruten.

Also good to see daylight at 2.15 this morning ! Ah the midnight sun of Tromso :D

Whow, thats interresting. Working for BBC sound like a great job! Do you do things like that often?

BTw, that weather camera is placed about 20meter from my office at the University, on the roof of the chemistry building.

Used to have extended overseas trips once or twice a year. The Arctic one was the best and most challenging!

I'm not sure I would like a webcam so near my office - I'd be frightened it would catch me napping with the whole world viewing!

Good wishes
