Electrical connection when installing tow hook

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I just installed a Brink tow hook on my Octavia TDI from -99.

What I have left to do is the electrical connection.

Does anyone know if there is prepared wiring for connection to the tow hook connector, or if I need to mess with the cables to the rear lights in order to get it working?

I would appreciate a quick reply as I am taking the car to inspection on Wednesday 23/6.

 /Pontstone, Sweden

You will have to tap into the wiring; there is no prepared wiring for towing electrics. It's quite simple to do, just use 'skotchlock' connectors.

If you have time, Skoda do a plug in loom, which requires no cutting, shutting or anything,...it just plugs straight into the rear lights on both sides. You will however need the uprated flasher relay which is the hazard switch assembly
