Skoda to build old Octavia again - Merged

Featured Replies

not good imo as itll only worsen the value of current MK1's but dont they still make the MK1 anyway for taxis?

I was about to mention Dacia, and lo and behold, in the first paragraph... :)

It is still made anyway - The Octavia Tour.

why would it overly affect mk1 values... it wont look like a mk1.

I cant see how it would affect the residual values of the old Mk1 models tbh.

They still sell the Classic tdi as private hire vehicles and will continue to do so till the end of 2009 i'm being told.

Its only the same way as they are planning to continue production of the old superb 1.9 tdi classic (105) as a stand alone private hire model, when the new superb is launched.

That way, they are not seen to devalue the new shiny models by having them sold in vast numbers, with vast discounts to the private hire trade.

Plus it means part supplies will be better for us Mk1 drivers because they are still classed as a "current" model!

Yes the MK1 is still avaliable until 2010.But only TDI and SDi IIRC.

I'd quite fancy a new old Octy vRS... they're unlikely to make one of those for a bargain price though lol.

Threads now merged.

buy a new one ,and strip all vrs stuff off your old one, and you will have a new cheap vrs

I think someone has mentioned, but I saw an 08 plate Mk1 taxi the other day and assumed that it was a late registration
