Glow Plug Light Flashing Whilst Driving

Featured Replies

Guys

Noticed the other day the glow plug light flashing on my Octavia VRs TDI dpf as I was driving home, so rang the dealer and got it booked in today.

Had a look on here and saw that it could be related to the brake light switch so checked by lights and they all seemed fine, so too it in.

Now just got a call to say they've put it on the diagnostics machine and it's come back with some fault code relating to the exhaust temperature and there's around 6 pages of checks for them to do so I can't have it back tonight :(

Anyway it sounds somewhat serious unless anyone can put my mind at rest

It's probably DPF related. Difficult to guees exactly what though.

Well I got some sort of answer.... It's a sensor of some sort !

The dealers had the car 3 days now, ordered the part and hopefully expected tomorrow and it will then be fitted. If not because of the BH, it will then be Tues next week...

Told me it would be better to leave the car with them if this happens as they will then fit it Tues, if I take it away they cannot guarantee booking it back in for the Tues - WTF !

seen it on a few of the rs diesels, requires an exhaust pressure sensor, engine electronics flash and dpf regeneration:)
