DVD motorised screen.

Featured Replies

i'm thinking of adding a Dvd motorised screen in the spare space under the radio on my Furby. will it fit as anyone else done this?

Tom.

I think Graeme has one fitted to his furby rs. No probs as far as I'm aware.

You have a double din slot too - the cubby hole beneath the radio can be used (at the expense of losing the cubby hole)

I have indeed. I have a Clarion unit with touch screen. Fits well and works brilliantly. Don't know if I could ever go back now. :D

Welcome back from your hols Andy.

Hiya, I have still not got the point of DVD screens in the front of cars....???, although they do look nice as a boys toy!

mine is to play back recorded footage of a driving lesson from a digital camcorder.

Tom.

A lot of the screens are now designed to go with navigation. So DVD is just one of the things that the machine happens to do !!

Or for bored girlfriends sitting next to you! ;) It is very good at keeping them quiet on long journeys. :D

Allegedly the DEH77mp can drive things like dab, dvd, screen etc... is this true... wonder how much a compatible screen would cost... :D

Hmm Andy, do you also do stand alone tft screens, like Xenarc ones?

Who ???? Never heard of them !! But I do sell stand alone screens, probably got a choice of 10-15 units in stock.

As for the DEH-P77MP as the unit is a 'P' Bus unit it will indeed control a TV tuner anything else that is 'P' bus. All you would need is to purchase the Pioneer GEX TV tuner and plug it in on the 'bus' line. The Pioneer TV tuner has a standard composite video output to run any screen. Most Pioneer 'P' bus products have an IP BUS in and out to allow linking of products. The only item I believe that doesn't have in and out are the CD changers which should always be last in line in Pioneer 'P' wiring.

Andy

Xenarc (www.xenarc.com) do lots of TFT screens (standalone).

Have my sights set on the 7" touchscreen one, linked to a PC..........

Follow me Xavier ;)

Lillyput is okay, terrible in the light, but less than 180 quid from a UK shop ;)

All panel get effected by the light. Problem is when I started this project it was still legal to have tints...now it's not...grrr

For the record it's a M1000 with GPS mouse/micro kb with a lilly touch 7" into an aux box from Andy CCR, which I must say I thought was expensive, but it's so painless it's worth every penny...

I'll do pics of the install one day, like the day I sell it. :D

Forogt to say what I really want to do is swap HU with the tray, then add a touchscreen fold out unit there. However they are in short supply and dammed expensive from the USofA. Need a traveller ;)

That said I might just go for one for v0.3 of this build if I fix my relay :(

Just thought I'd defend myself. Box wasn't expensive bacuase he brought it from me, its a genuinely expensive part !!!!

We do stand alone screens from that sort of money dependant on size etc....

Andy

oops sorry Andy,

Actually you price matched somebody else...the above should say it is dammed expensive....not it was which it was, but it is anyway....has that helped?

Sorry...Andy's prices are good folks...

  • 1 month later...

How about a Sat nav system which can play dvds...and show you the pictures from a small camera mounted at the front / back of the car? ;-)
