Thats come out really well.

Wow, is this a "wet vac" machine then?

How much did it cost to rent mate? Mine could do with a clean, especially the mats.

Yes.

I use a small Vax I bought.

What cleaning fluid did you use?

It cost me £37 from Friday 4.00pm to Monday 10:00am

You get 4 litres of there cleaning fluid with it.

I did my car, a rug, 2 bedrooms and now my parents have it doing there rooms.

Its £25 for 24 hours, if you only want it for a short time.

Rug Doctor - Buy or Rent a Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner

I used Vax AAA diluted more than they suggest for carpets.

Should I ask how much it cost (best I've seen is £450), and more importantly having seen the size, where on earth you keep it.

Have to say I'm still more than happy with my £31 Vax which will be getting an outing this week.

A good tip is to rent them from somewhere that's closed on a sunday... so you rent it on the saturday only pay for one day as you can't return it on the sunday and just pop it in first thing monday morning!!

Thats what we did any way.... they are pretty good... we used it on our flat before we sold it to spruce it up a bit!

Looks like new does the car now btw!!!

What model Vax, Mark?

Yep, always had good results with the rug doctor in the past. Johnsons laundrettes are a good place to hire from as they are normally closed on Sundays! ;)

Nick, it's a Vax V-020 cylinder.

I got mine for £31 delivered from graded electricals on ebay, but it was as good as new but in a brown box not a pretty one and saved me the change from £100 :)

Vax V-020 Carpet & Upholstery Washer Shampooer £99 N/R on eBay, also Other Vacuum Cleaners, Vacuum Cleaners, Cleaning, Laundry Vacuuming, Home Garden (end time 10-Jun-08 11:00:00 BST)

A bit was missing, and their service was top notch. They sent me a new part out straight away and had asked me did I want them to collect it and refund if I didn't want to wait on the part. New part turned up the next day :D

I believe either Aldi or Lidl had them on at £40 last week so that's also a good buy.

Mine came with a floor tool and upholstery tool as well as a bottle of AAA shampoo.

I just figured when paying £32+fluid a time to rent one down here it was easier to have one and I'm perfectly happy with the results.

Gonna try the Rug Doctor in the next week or so, see what happens then may be invest in one of those

Nice one mate

is always worrying i think when you have an interior that isnt to bad and the water looks just nasty!!!

looks like its come up well!!!

only bit i didnt like doing is the door card on the edge where my shoulder rubs as its a bit fiddly there.

Best to do the door card as it curves with a hot microfibre wrung after soaking in some cleaning solution.
