JHM Butt - no more Skoda parts

Featured Replies

Sent JHM Butt n Bawtry (S. Yorks) an email enquiry and got a reply back saying they are running down their Skoda parts business.

This is unfortunate as they are close to me and gave good advice on a previous issue.

They gave as an alternative:

Jorily Skoda Spares

That's a bit cheeky. I've got some useful stuff from Jorily in the past, but unless tha guy's expanded massively, I got the impression it was mostly stuff for the old rear-engined Skodas, with the odd bit for the Fabia and Octavia. Handy for something you might not get from a dealer, but definitely not a proper shop, that for sure...

SAY it aint so JHMBUTT have been realy good for me and I don't live any where near them, well I live in England but they are defenatly north of gatwick so if they are going can anybody advice on next best thing :weeping: you dont need to sugest Crawley Down though thanks

I have someone off Ebay I deal with for any little parts I need. Genuine too. :)

Jorily is very good on getting parts, particularly difficult to find older bits. Recently got a RHD Favorit steering rack from him for £100 (£15 delivery I think), dealer was asking £160 and keen to tell me they had one in stock as if they were keen to shift it - wonder if I should have haggled with the dealer, but I guess it wouldn't have got me anywhere lol.

That's a bit of a shocker, JHMButt supplied me with some quality bits for the Octy, a real shame TBH.

Not that I need many Skoda parts for the Mazda like:O

I'll have to stock up on Cube van parts though.

Jorily is a proper shop. The have access to a large warehouse in Czech Republic, so can get anything you require weather it's a Old Estelle or a Octavia/Fabia. They have even sourced hard to find parts for Skoda UK themselves. They have been involved with Skoda parts for about 20 years.

Mmm

I must admit , I have been using them for years :(

I was gutted when they told me that they was stopping the Skoda parts

They are only approx 5 miles from me too

First thing I did was to jump in to my new (well to me) Fabia and got some nice carpets off them

Cracking bunch of guys , and gals

Sorry to see it end

Another Skoda spares specialist is CPMS based in Peterborough. He also services and repairs all Skodas too and is very competitive. His ebay name is boroskoda, or you can call Chris Pepper on 01733 324251. He bought all of S4 Imports Skoda stock and has masses of spares dating back to the MB models, plus he too has over 20 years skoda experience and is a skoda trained technician. He's been running CPMS since the mid-Nineties and has expanded the business considerably since then.In fact, most of the Out of warranty Skodas in and around Peterborough use him for Servicing and have his sticker in the rear screen:thumbup:

:) I've heard good stuff about Chris, though I haven't used his services personally. I have used Butts and been let down several times, and more recently have used Jorilly quite a lot who I've found to be excellent....so far I've had efficient, friendly and reasonably priced service every time.

I used to use Btts all the time - and here is a little story for you.

I wanted the exhaust support bracket for my Rapid, but on my phone call to Butts I could not think of what to call it to help with their location of the parts. I spoke to Sarah and she thought my differing and sometimes implausable name for the part was funny so she started to laugh. Well, as you know laughter is infectuous and she started me off. I tried to be serious, but no joy - I ended up laughing so hard down the 'phone that I could not breathe and ended up bright red with my eyes streaming:rofl:. I could get no words out - just laughter! I hung up in the end - I could not go on!

I rang back after I composed myself and with the part number to hand (phew).

Anyway, after that, Sarah always had a soft spot for me and helped me when my Rapid needed a new head - sold me a Felicia head with all valves, studs and springs fitted for £100. Result!

Shame they are finished with Skoda now, but I can attest to Jorily's excellent service:thumbup:!

Ian

As she was a gem Sarah , I liked her

I still see her on the odd ocasion in her Octavia , as she lives in the same village as me

In fact I used to pick parts up from her house , to save postage and I did not get home until late :(

Bless

Mind the other girl that took over , she only lives round corner from her , same village

Ah , fond memories

Sarah

I always used to enjoy talking to Sarah, very helpful.
