Octy Vrs Mk1 - Front speaker install

Featured Replies

Yes, been posted loads and I have read lots and lots of posts...

Few Q's

1 - Will these do the job?

JBL GTO 607c 17cm 6.5" 165W CAR COMPONENT SPEAKERS SALE on eBay, also Component Speakers Sets, Speakers, In-Car Entertainment GPS, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 29-May-08 17:55:46 BST)

2- I understand I can use existing wiring and just replace existing speakers/tweeters which sounds super. How do I go about taking the tweeter box off the fronts? Can it be done without taking door cars off.

3 - Replacing HU, I understand this is simple as swap red and yellow wires over, and remove the blue k-line - 100% the ariel does not need this power?

Cheers

1. speakers should be fine

2. yup existing wiring will be fine, tweeters in Mk1 Oct simply pull off carefull

3. Sounds right for the HU

No the ariel is powered so you will need it

No it won't. That's used for cars with electric ariels, it sends a voltage to make the ariel extend when listening to the radio/turning the stereo on.

Cheers!

Aerial has an amp built into it and needs a 12v feed to make the amp work. Some headunits are ok without others are not.

that was my understanding too, but don't quote me on it

you will need to connect the blue to a booster ONLY if you intend to listen to MW/LW. if you just want FM, then you wont need the blue wire
