Diesel 1.9 & 2.0 MPG

Featured Replies

Had an Elegance 2.0 Tdi which would regularly do 510-520 miles on approx 52 litres (11g) so thats 46-47mpg. Best was 560 miles so thats about 51mpg on a long run.

My new 2.0 L&K with DSG with over 6k miles is doing about 440 miles, or 41mpg (maily urban driving). Long run will see 500 miles so thats 45.5mpg.

MK1 vRS would do 300 miles on 46 litres (10g) so giving 30mpg.

I think these figures are realistic of mixed bag driving. I never owned a 1.9 though so have no figures but would guess at about 10mpg more.

I was amazed by mine on the way home today in my 2.0TDi, fair enough its a computer reading but this thread seems to be using those. The average on my commute home (heavy friday traffic) was 64 MPG, and the range on my recently filled tank was more than 700 miles.

I used to see ranges like that on my last tdi but it never got anywhere near it. I do have a heavy right foot though and always prefer to press on when cruising on the motorway.

I drive about 25km each way, twisty road, 80-110 Km/h.

Am getting 4,5 l/100Km on the trip, which is 62.6 miles/gallon.

Car isn't broken in, only done a 1000 Km so far. 1.9 TDI.
