A tyring issue

Featured Replies

Heya all, just a quick question. I walked out to the car today and the rear drivers side tyre was as flat as a pancake, the preassure reading on the footpump said 0psi, i had been using the car the day before and i hadn't noticed a flat. I pumped the tyre back up to 32psi and left it for an hour, it was down at 30psi after an hour but i assume that was form me being cack-handed and letting air escape when i tool the nozzle off. It has now been sitting there for a good 4 hours and nothing has happened, it had not gone down and seems to be the same preassure. My question is, is this normal? What could have caused the tyre to go flat but then be ok after a pump up? Should I get this checked out?

Thanks folks,

Duggie.

Was anyone hanging around the car? It could have been kids/your mates letting it down for a laugh maybe??

Yes, get it checked out.

Possibility that the leak is been sealed by the weight of the car. As you drive the car, the rubber will expand and contract pushing the air out as you move.

It wont cost anything for a check and only a few quid for a fix (if its in the tread area)

No, The car is treated with wollen gloves really, in the garage when not being used and I won't leave it in car parks or on the street for long.

Yes, get it checked out.

Thanks, i'll take it to my local tyre place tomorrow, see what they say.
