Uprated anti roll bars anyone for a 4x4

Featured Replies

Has anyone any idea if anybody makes up rated anti roll bars for the Octy 4x4, Eibach dont & demon tweaks dont, Eric @ AAT is looking but nothing found yet.

Are these for beach racing?

Refresh my memory, which platform is the Octavia based on?? Same as TT/A3/GolfIV???

According to Eibach they have looked at this but the pick up points are different on the Octy to any other vag car they currently make them for

Does anyone on here have the facility to check the part numbers for the std items against the Golf 4motion or any of the Audi's, I believe VAG keep the same part numbers across the range so if the std ones are the same as any other VAG car I can see if anyone does them for that car

OK then, thanks

Neuspeed and H&R do uprated ARB's for the Golf/TT so depending on what diameter bars you're currently running, they might be worth going for. On my A3 TQ I upgraded my rear ARB to the one from the Golf VR6 4-Motion. It was 1mm larger, but I forget just what the diameter was. Plus it only cost around

I'll see what I can dig up in the other forums.......

Thanks

OK, first find....

This is from Richard Gosden as posted on Tyresmoke.

He has a 2002 S3 with std front ARB and V6 4-Motion rear:

Rear 16mm ARB (VW part): 1J0511409J

Rear mounting bushes x 2 (VW part): 1J0511327B

Front 20mm ARB Yellow paint mark (Audi part) 1J0411305R

Front mounting bushes x 2 (Audi part) 1J0411314T

Front clip x 2 (Audi part) 1J0411336D

And Gambba got these numbers in ETKA for the std rear ARBs:

Right it's

1J0 511 409 G for a 14mm Rear ARB

and

1J0 511 409 H for a 15mm Rear ARB

That's all I got for now, but I've got to go get ready for class here in an hour, so....

And I have 25mm front and rear - dear god, what a difference! :D :D :D :D :D

I seem to remember that the Octy is based upon the Bora floor pan which is slightly longer than the Golf/Audi A3 , or was that only the estate version of the Octy ?

The Octavia 4X4 is fitted with a 19mm stabiliser at the front (1J0 411 305AA - PR-0AR) and 13mm at the rear (1J9 511 409D - PR-0BL).

The Golf R32 which is four motion has the thickest stock anti roll bars, they are the same diameter as the Eibach items. We generally upgrade to these as its cheaper buying original parts.

Ross so will they fit the Octy, PLEASE say they will

Where do your anti roll bars connect on the front axle? On the wishbone or the strut?

I will have a grovel around when it stops raining, dont know if anyone else would know the answer in the mean time.

Via a connecting linkage to the shock absorber strut (4X4) rather than to the track control arm via a linkage (2WD).

Then I see no reason why R32 arb's wouldnt fit a Octavia 4x4.

Music to my ears, time to ring my local Skoda dealer (ex VW) & get confirmation

  • Author

Dealer dosent know, anyone else I can ask ??, Its certainly a cheap option, 140 + vat for front & rear including bushes.

  • Author

Well Skoda spent a day trying to solve this one & the answer I finally got was "Its not an approved modification & hasnt been tested therefore we are unable to comment", Yep it took a day to establish that & they still wont tell me if they will fit as they are not allowed to comment further

So anyone else ??

Like I said ive fitted the R32 bars to numerous four motion Golf's which are identical so they must fit.

What's the diameter of the R32 bars Ross?

Will double check tomorrow Jon.
