****ing Beeeeppp!!!

Featured Replies

The beep, bong or whatever it is for "it's cold" is definitely configurable, because mine doesn't do it, but the beeper is present and working because it reminds me when I've left the indicator on at the Co-op, and when I need to buy fuel.

just find the offending beeper/buzzer/bonger and snip a wire....job sorted!

That beep is annoying, but i think the worst time for it to happen (and it has happened to me a few times) is when your overtaking.

You drop a gear, pull out, plant your foot and then "BEEEP", You **** yourself thinking the engine has a fault and its just the screen wash or fuel level. Makes you hesitate at the least aproppriate time :(

Yep, I've done that too!

The worst one was when I was younger and considerably more foolish (a few months ago then..), returning home much later than I'd planned and...rushing somewhat. Just when I was concentrating like a Buddhist monk (if a Buddhist monk has ever driven quickly), BEEEEEEP! Fuel warning.

I almost sh@ myself.

....

I think after about 7 and a half years of fabia ownership, I have become numb to the beeps... It's just "one of those things"....

that beep always makes me panic - what have I done/not done/broke

just make sure you top everything up, i do it once a week and rarely suffer a beep, if i leave it 2 weeks then i will get a screenwash beep.

I check regularly that things are topped up so I don't get beeps for that.

I got a beep once when I drove off with the handbrake on though.

my beeper/speaker thing has broken and its the same one that makes the indicator 'tick' which is annoying, but i'd rather that than being scared to death by the fuel warning beep etc

There's another beep / bong / bing thing that happens if you try to drive with the hand-brake on, as I discoverd when coming down hairpins on postmanpat's Euro 2008 Trip. :o It didn't save the rear pads though.

Am sure they are all there as a safety factor as has been mentioned before just try and keep them all topped up

I had the beep for the screen wash a week or so ago and it gave me a fright as over the last few months I have topped up the screen wash with all the trips I've been doing so must have been lazy and not topped it up!

It's going to be fun in games in a few weeks when the winter comes round again!

I actually don't mind the "bong" when it gets icy.

Its the BEEEEP (Diesel, Screenwash etc) that P*sses me off

Im having beeping issues just now.

Brake fluid levels needs topped up.

Was out last night, every corner i went round "BEEP BEEP BEEP".

Suppose i better fix my leak and not be lazy.... :o

I don't know if there is any way of turning the beep off via vag-com or VAS.

In my years of working with VW i've never came across a way to do it.

Never really had to do it mind you.

pop the dash pod out and put soem gaffer tape over the speaker.

Job done in five seconds.

My problem is opposite. I havent got any audiable signal at all, but i would love to :) (no BEEPS - no BONGS)

So can anyone post some pictures where is that tiny speaker.

I think the past owner cut it off.

Please help!

Given some of the differences in reported functionality, I'm pretty sure that at least some of the audio alerts are configurable in VAGCom.

It doesnt give sound even if i turn blinking left or right. Thats why i taugth the speaker is cutted off...

I thought it was 2 different sounders! The indicators normally sound like a relay clicking, and frequently are. The various "low level" beeps and bongs, and lights on noises are definiely from a speaker though.

Now im confused ... 2 speakers? where is the first, where is the second?

I said "sounders" deliberately, because the indicator one is frequently the electrical switch that triggers the flashing action.

Ive got a beep now.only goes off every now and then and its always if i give it some welly from a junction ect.the handbrake light flashes 5 times.doesnt always happen tho.

thought it might have been brake fluid levels, but there sound.help ?

fabias nothing, you should here some of the horrid noises the buses make!

One of the traction control systems? Particularly if it seems to be accompanied by a loss of power until the f****ing and b***ing stop!

I was under the impression that the noise for icy conditions is a bong, and the noise for lights left on is a high pitched constant beep, and that the noise for the fuel low or washer lower is the same lights left on high pitched beep but for 2-3 seconds.

So in my experience, in an '04 fabia there are two alert noises - a bong for icy conditions, and a beep for problems/low fluid levels?
