Genuine Works Skoda 130L Group A Rally Car For Sale

Featured Replies

Love it

It looks "right", even down to the number plate seeming familiar (which they did back then).

How much?????

How much?????

Probably got to be worth at least £700 to an enthusiast - probably significantly more if in perfect order and with enticing mods.

Judging by the price that 130 L Sport is currently at on ebay (£1020), I'd say this has to be around the £1500 - £2000 mark, its so rare.

:iagree: That and maybe even more, if it's elligable for historic events.

Sorry but have you lot come down in the last shower?

Genuine works rally cars can be worth up to and probably beyond 4k If it is a genuine works car and not a skoda trophy car.

The days of cheap old skoda's have long gone. rare cars well, value its a buyer market.

Ive emailed the seller asking about its spec, but not had a reply. I am guessing its a trophy car not a WRC version going by the window sticker (or is that too obvious!!)

quite a lot of ex works cars found there way into the skoda trophy after there works rally history was over.

B300 PVF was so said the only RHD works 130 rally car produced unless i was wrongly informed however this car does ring a bell especially as its a CARNATION sponsored car.

One bloke to ask about it would be Bill Hunt, Skoda G.B.'s Motorsport man back in the day.I will get in touch with him tomorrow and see what he can come up with.

Is it me or does the front end look a bit twisted

Skudman, do you want to try and explain how paying less than something is worth is silly please?

Rigsby, after another look at the photo, I've got where you're coming from, but think the car is straight but on a slope and the light is creating an optical illusion.

One thing that doesn't look 'right' on the car is the front panel above the bumper. It should be white, not blue, so being a rallycar its obviously been replaced many times, they just made a mistake.(I'm just being picky here....!)

Regarding contacting Bill Hunt about it, He's going to get back to me on Tuesday about it and confirm how many etc in RHD were Works Mlada Boleslav cars and whether this is one of them or THE one!

I don't have a problem with bargain hunting however i do have a problem with people slating the value of rare cars. True the car is only worth what a potential buyer is prepared to pay for it. however in the past i have made an offer of over £1500 for a rusting shell of the so said only RHD 130L R made which is currently residing in a field. The reason so much? its history, What the history stood for at the time when old Skodas were heavily criticised. If there had been some glimmer that the owner would have budged from his defiant NO i would have offered more knowing full well that the car might have cost almost twice that to restore.

"Ex-Warren Hunt. Sat for years unwanted and un-loved at CarNation. Lee Kedward is a big supporter of Slowly Sideways, lots of Gp B cars.

There are no genuine LRs likely to be available, this is the next nearest thing. Go for it."

Above is the only comment im interested in from the one person that knows more than probably anyone regarding the 130LR LA cars.

...Erm, the last time I saw a genuine Skoda 130LR rally car on autotrader was about 4 years ago and it sold for £5000, and it wasnt even in perfect running order and had battle scars.

Secondly, there is a 130 sport estelle on ebay at the moment which is currently at £1020 with 2 days left to go, only 200 sports made, and there must be only as many as you can count on one hand left now, so yes, the rarer something is, and if it is sought after the more people will pay, so, 130LRs trophy or whatever spec are rare and sought after, weather they be by collectors, enthusiasts or rally drivers themselves.

The days of paying £40 for an estelle or rapid are over and at last the jokes have worn off and people are respecting the cars for what they were and still are today.

:)I always find it hard to put a price on classic Skodas, to me they are priceless. Damned things virtually rule my life!

This particular one is very, very special indeed and I'd be more than happy to pay whatever the asking price is if I had the money and less cars.

That was this 130L/A, incorrectly described as an LR, so it was worth £5000 4 years ago, case proven. The seller today has turned down the same £5k as being wildly wide of the mark, which it is. Ex-works history is ex-works history, although a GpA car is always likely to be less sought-after than a GpB if such exists. After that, it's demand versus supply. There are less rear-engined era Skoda fans out there than maybe for other volume brands but some of them, especially young newly-wealthy Czech collectors, are intensely proud of their national brand and this car is unique. It does, however, have the disadvantage of a less-than-famous UK works driver as opposed to a famous Czech or Norwegian !

A genuine works 130LR/B is currently worth in excess of £70,000.

If any body knows SKOFAST knows

I think if it was mint its worth £10k, if its not far off, maybe £8 or £9k if it needs a bit of work, £7-£8k.

Which is cheap considering like Skofast says, works history, how much would a works cosworth sierra cost now?
