Erratic Indicators

Featured Replies

Hi,

The indicators on my 2003 vrs are flashing irratically when I indicate. They flash and click fast and slow bus so far have not failed!

Any ideas?

Would I be right in saying that the relay is built into the hazard switch?

Thanks in advance

Tom

Normally flash fast if a bulb is blown somewhere but obviously you have checked these first??

If no blown bulbs then possibly relay:confused: which is all part of the Hazard switch IIRC.

It will be the relay in the hazard switch, two minute job to change, prise the trim off around the switch, pull out unplug and replace switch.

A new switch costs £20-30 I think from the dealer, they normally have plenty in as it seems to be a common problem.

I had same problem with mine several months ago and that turned out to be the relay/hazard switch.

Managed to source a brand new one from ebay for less than £15 !!, and yes it was literally a 2 minute job to pop the new one back in !

that was the first thing i had to change when i bought my octy, it went out sooner than the first oil change!!!!

Mine started to go within 2 weeks of me getting my car

As has been said, hazzard switch / relay needs to swapped and is a piece of cake to do. Mine cost £28.63 from a main dealer.
