Another fuel protest

Featured Replies

on the M8 today. why dont all these little groups who have had protests over the past few weeks get together and do one massive protest, preferably in london and bring the place to a stop (not that it moves much anyway).

Yep on it's way to Holyrood the scottish parliment, just arrived in Edinburgh and making it's way along the A1, should be passing my area pretty soon.

Don't think it will acheieve anything but you never know.

If everyone has to cut back/stop buying fuel aren't these oil companies going to lose out big time?

Talk of $250 dollars a barrel on one site

the oil companies know that we will need fuel no matter what. we can cut back and use car less but we are a country that cannot survive without the car.

No not at all.

Given that oil is more than 10 times as expensive as it was two years ago , even if they only sold half as much (which clearly isn't going to happen) then they are still quids in.

I think the oil companies will only hit problems if people reduce their need for oil now and then the fuel price drops in the future with people now needing less oil.

Would have to be quite a big drop to really worry them short term though.

Wonder what the fuel bill for the slow protest was?

I'll be keeping my car longer unless VAG launch an alternative to petrol or diesel.
