Hi Guys I have a 2001 Octavia estate (2.0 automatic),It has done 58000 miles, when should the cam belt be replaced ? All the hand book says is at owners discretion,I know VW Passats have to have it replaced at 60000 miles is the Octavia the same.

It's now 4 years or 40,000 miles as far as I know on all VAG cars.

So best get it booked in then

Remember to get the water pump changed at the same time. I work on a 40K interval, terrible cambelt paronoia I know, but cheaper than a new engine.
