New Roomster owner and query about warning light

Featured Replies

Hello All,

My name's Mark, and I've been lurking around looking at this forum for several months, and it's been a great resource for all things Skoda. Over the years I've owned four Skodas in total; an Estelle 105LUX, a 136 Rapid, a Felicia 1.6 GLXi, and my latest aquisition, a rather nice Roomster.

Anyway, last Saturday I took delivery of the new Roomster 3 1.9Tdi in Polar Blue. I went for the standard model, plus mud flaps all around, and roof rails. So far so good, however, after only doing some 40 miles the Open Door warning light on the dashboard has started to stay on all the time. I've checked the doors, bonnet and boot and these are all definately closed. The light continues to light up even when I'm driving, and as you may know, at a certain speed the thing beeps at me - which is rather annoying.

Can someone tell me, am I looking at a fault, or am I missing something out. I had a closer look around the doors, bonnet and boot to see if there are any sensors, but I can not see anything. I've checked the owners manual, and that just tells me what I already know.

Any feedback would be most welcome.

regards

Might be a false alarm or a faulty switch, could be erased or repaired in nearest Skoda service...

Tbh it's not something I think you'll be able to get a conclusive answer on from a forum I'm affraid, your best course of action is to speak to your dealer and arrange for it to be looked at under warranty.

Welcome to the forum btw

As makefish has said, your dealer will have the necessary to determin where the fault lies (Whcih sensor etc.) and should be able to sort it with relative ease.

Dear all,

Thanks for all your comments, I will be phoning the dealer in the next few minutes to organise a visit. To be honest, every new car I've ever owned have had teething problems in the first month or so of owning them. In fact, the worse thing that ever happened to me was when I owned the Estelle 105LUX, when the whole gear stick came off in my hand, and the car was stuck in third gear! I only had the car about three weeks when this happened, but the local dealer sorted it out pretty quicky - under warranty.
