Bugger. Found that last night after my post above and was hoping no one else would notice!

soz mate

DOH

you only need 10mm spacers and no they don't rub with 225 tyres :)

why are you so against spacers lloyd?

just never used them and ive been told not to? maybe i just listen too much? i did email brembo shop online i found tho with wheels and size and i got a repy saying they would go? r they telling porkies r they?

Brembo. Brembo GT Big Brake Kit SKODA Octavia 1.8i 20V Turbo RS (132kW) (2001>) 323x28 1-Piece drilled or slotted (33.0019.xx)

the 323mm disc kit?

well i have 17 VW santa monica's on my octavia and with 10mm spacers they run very close, i've never had spiders so can't really say about them but there are others on here that have run the brembo's with these wheels.

If I was to go with brembo's though it wouldn't be the Cupra R/Brembo GT kit but the Boxster kit which does need the 15mm spacers as far as I'm aware. Can you use the boxster bits with 10mm spacers?

is that hwat the brembo gt kit is ? the cupra set up? awesomw do a range from ecs tunning? has anyone looked at these? the ecs site allow you to print out a template to try behind the wheel to see if it clears? the use alot of porsche calpiers, even 1 kit with the cayanne ones, huuge? but anygood?

i got told you could pick a set from the mk4 list and they can do them for the octy?

Volkswagen Golf / GTI IV 1.8T Braking

The Brembo GT set up is the brackets from the Leon R but the calipers from the Ibiza R.

mine is the full setup from the leon i believe.

some one maybe interested in these R32 brakes for sale

had the r32 mk 4 golf brakes trial fitted to my mk1 octavia vrs and they fit with my standard 17inch wheels just

You need 8mm spacers to make the Brembo kit fit behind the standard 17" spiders on the vRS. Diameter of the wheel makes little difference on clearance, it's the off set that you have to look out for.

so is 35 offset out more than the 38 offset?

most wheels you get are 35

the std wheels are 38

An off set of 35 will take the wheel 3 further out, moving the spokes away from the brake calipers. You will need an off set of 30-32 to clear the Brembo kit with 17" wheels.

Just as a matter of interest, I use 8mm spacers and it makes the car understeer that bit more. :(

I did try some 18's and they cocked the handling up as well.

you need to corner weight it and play about with compounds / spring weights and tyre pressures..... bit more rear bar will help

Really!;)

I've got to keep something back in reserve. :D

cheers D.

but y wast 1400 plus on the r32 setup when you can get the 6 pot ones for 1k all the bits, you jus need to fit them ur self which is easy.

Sorry for bringing back from the dead, but was it the 334mm r32 brakes behind 17" spiders? Thanks in advance!

Brembos fit behind my 18x8s with loads of clearance.

Well seen as you showing yours off Rob:

with 3mm spacers:

minimum needed with 8x18 et35

IMG00418-20110424-1543.jpg

5mm Spacers:

Minimum needed with the 7x17 et38 spiders

Spacers ruin the drive tho even 3mm ones. Ive put LCR 7.5x18 et38 on now with no spacers and the drive is just like std, lovely and smooth. Robs rims are the same measurments as my Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 iirc but its down to the shape of the spokes.

I dont understand tho why you would want to put the R32 2pot brakes on when iirc they are really heavy? specially when you can get these for £500 ish (if and when they pop up)

I believe they do, but as stated, its going to be v.tight

The R32 is only oem specced to have 18" wheels

Spacers dont ruin the handling....far from it,

wider front track helps corect understeer, thats why the LCR has a wider front track.

You are right about the brakes though!! why bother...especially considering the disc replacement cost!
