Clio Sport 1?2

Featured Replies

Thougtht I'd share this;

Cruising down the m40 yesterday I noticed a blue Clio Sport with a horendous exhaust bolted on the back, at every opportunity he booted it to gain a couple of car lengths.

Totally unfazed by this I left the car in fifth resting on the optimum torque range 1500rpm ready for the 50-70 section as you near Ruislip (sorry for those that don't know where this is) before I knew it I was right behind him waiting to overtake, did he move over? NO. Because of this LOUD exhaust you could hear him having to change down a couple of gears to accelerate away from me (or so he thought) I just left it in fifth and pressed on, I think he was surprised that my car was so rapid.

Anyway I followed him off at the next junction, annoyed he flew round the roundabout, exhaust screaming and I caught him at the next set of lights.

Did I put any effort in? NO, just flexed my right foot for more power while he made several gear changes wasted a S***load of petrol and drew a load of attention to himself.

Now I know why Skoda made this car, it's for lazy people that can't be bothered to change gear. Big thanks to VAG for the engine :)

Did it have solid colour coded bumpers or did it have a plastic strip in the middle of the bumper all the way around ? There is a reason I ask this.

Lol - is this where we find out it's a badged-up 1.2-16v? ;)

Solid bumpers (as I said above) sport logo on the left hand side of the tailgate and a stooooopid loud exhaust.

Wow.

Coming home last night, had a little scare: thought a B-52 bomber was about to crash into my rear.

Was it a B-52? Noooooooo.

So what was it then?

See attached

Edited to say if you look closely below the number plate, you'll notice TWO extra-large baked beans cans acting as zorsts. Funniest thing was the noise it was making - yet didn't seem to want to go anywhere!

Sounds like a 172 then (like you said) with something like a K-Tec exhaust.

Yerr John sounds like a 172 with a KTEC or some other w4nk make.

Xavier, either that is a sh-it hot camera phone or you carry a digi camera round in the car. Quality mate.

If it was a phone I hope you were using it hands free Xavier!!!

Funny as... you should see this fiesta that goes round southport, just ask john (faboka) its hill airy ar5e

I would love to show you lot the Escort delivery van that Ascar in Sheffield use. Speednut might be familiar with it but there has got to be ten pipes coming out of the back of that thing.

MPC in Walsall use an old Granada herse to bring stuff to car shows... its painted like a Gateway box (cow print)...

People we got out wedding cake off have a bright purple Austin Hearse with 'Cakes to die for' written down the side.

If it was a phone I hope you were using it hands free Xavier!!!
Yep, bluetooth handsfree kit in car.

Just got round to adding the voice-activated booster-rocket commands for the phone so it can hover at the right place to take the pic

Twas my digicam :o Always handy to have it in the car - you never know what you might just come across ;)

  • 4 months later...

Just on my way back home from Gatwick (Holiday is over...)

We had 3 passengers and a boot full of suitcase, and met a lad out to play in his Clio Sport (dunno nwhich engine)

He had the edge on my fully laden Furby, but not by much, and it would have been intersting what the results would have been if he was competing against a 1-up Furby!

It was a bit wet, and up to 80-90 he was not really pulling away by more than a car length or two, and we were still there at 120, so I think he was a bit ****ed off that he couldn't murder a humble Skoda.

So Yar boo sucks...

lol John

Unless your furby is chipped then I would say he wasn't trying TBH unless you caught him off guard.

lol :) really unless chipped the furby dont stand a cat in hells chance :)

and there is only one stupid exhaust for the clio :) brum brum

oh he was skating about the roundabouts wasting power, and up the hills he was dogging it all the way, but the furby is good up hills, and down the other side he was bottling it (understandably as it was wet)

Maybe in the dry he would have done better!?

John

wet or not the driver wasnt trying :)

i did 28k in mine in all sorts of conditions so knew it pretty well :)

Nice zorst Dogmaul..... Not

:gay:
