Very nice, Mannyo. Do we know if Jacko's car is lowered? The wheels certainly fill the arches well....

Wonder what a brand new set of vRS wheels are worth........ they may help fund my first upgrade....

Does anyone know how the Octavia handles on 18s?

Jim Bo,

I will check out my emails from Jacco. They may well be 19"ers.

It doesn't handle as well as 17"s - the original set up inspires confidence, 18"s make the ride a bit jittery and doesn't feel as planted IMO

18" are mainly for looks

Just checked things out,

Jacco's RS is lowered 25mm and The wheels are OZ Antares 19'' with 225/35/19 Goodyear Eagle tyres.

Thanks Mannyo. Maybe I'll just stick with standard wheels and suspension, then.... besides, it leaves more money for sat nav, a remap and an exhaust!

One thing I did to mine when I changed the tyres a couple of weeks ago was to increase the width. I went from 205/50 x 17's to 225/45 x 17's . You may find your RS comes with either of these 2 tyre sizes. I certainly get better cornering grip on the 225's.

Manny! Why do I only get red crosses on your website??? I can't get into the gallery:(

Btw, I have taken some new pics of my car now that its lowered. Good excuse to buy a digital camera, huh? :D

Christian,

Windows XP by any chance?. The gallery is done in Java and until you install Windows XP SP1 then it should work. If its something else then make sure java is enabled.

How much have you had your RS Lowered by?

I can see some nice scenic swedish view coming. Digital camera's are not to expensive now, we can get them for under 100 GBP for a basic one.

Yes, I have XP installed and Java is enabled. What is XP SP1?

I used the 35mm H&R springs so it should be 20mm lower than standard but when measuring before and after it seemed to get a little bit lower than that. Digicams are pretty cheap over here too. Ofcourse I had to buy a camera with lots of features I don't know how to use... yet  Anyway, I'll send you some of my new pics.

Sorry, Service Pack 1. It came with the Java virtual machine that was excluded from the original XP. I would post a link but it will be for the english version, I am sure you would want the swedish one. It should be on the "Windows Update" website.

I installed SP1 on an Me to XP Home upgraded machine and found that SP1 introduced more problems than it solved. However it seems to be OK on a new laptop supplied with XP Home + SP1 already installed.

Time to upgrade the dog........dog.gif
