Creaky drivers seat (04 plate VRS)

Featured Replies

I know this sounds daft but I have the MOST annoying creak comming from my drivers seat. Everytime the turbo kickes in it's creaking and poping in my back.

I am 6 foot 4" and have the seat all the way back and to the floor could it be because I have it right on the end of the runners ?

I have adjusted the lumbar support but nothing seems to work

HELP PLEASE BEFORE I GOT NUTS!:D

I wonder if its a common problem because my seat in the Fabia creaked quite a bit.

I'm 5"8 and have it pushed back and to the floor. Had the fabia to the garage and they said it was the runner.

Got it fixed and it seems a lot better, but i do still get the odd creak.

Drove me mad too!!

It's driving me up the wall... It's more like a popping in the seat

If I push my backend to the back of the seat and push with my feet on the floor it does it then as well.

I might have to take it to Skoda and see what's what.

I took mine in and they supposidley fixed it under warranty with a new seat frame but it's creaking again so I'm not sure they did anything.

Cheers

Had it on my new shape Fabia just sprayed WD40 on to the moving parts of the seat which stopped it !

I got it, it is the runners and there is a fix floating around on UKMK1V's.

When setting the runner position gently lower the lever and shove your behind forward/backward so that the cathc kind of drops into place. Does the trick for a few days I find.

Hope this helps and makes sense ???

Thanks for all the tips.

I'll take a look this weekend and see if I can spot whats doing it before I turn into the Hulk and rip the bloody seat out ! :D

I had the seat rail replaced under warranty. Was very annoying as mine creaked around every corner. The dealers said the rails had a lot of flex but the new one fitted is rock solid - over 2 years now and no creaking

mine does this on both the pass and driver seat! it is annoying isnt it haha,i will have a go with the tips i read here too so,thanks from me too ppl :-)

same problem here, and also a lot of Golf IV and Bora's have this problem... solution: just higher/lower the seat a bit and the creak is gone for a couple of days (at least with me it is)

Cheers

I'm 6ft 6in and have the seat right back and on the floor as you... no problems here though. Did have a creak a little while ago but found it to be a bottle of water wedged under my seat!
