Blyton Park - Sat 16th Aug - Cheapest trackday of the year (probably)

Featured Replies

Bring it along

Cool . Have to find a laptop with a serial port for the day so in between session I can download the data and see what its like. Should be fun seeing as it has no GPS but Race Technology say it should be good for small circuits.

Bu99er, gone from sun and occasional cloud with a 10% chance of showers, to 60% and rain.

Gotta love British summer time. :thumbdwn::(

Wet = more fun :thumbup:

With the added less strain on tyres

I'd be up for some/lots rain, so long as the bbq doesn't get washed out.

Aside from the weather - just how bumpy is the road surface at Blyton ??

Except, unlike any other road in the UK, there's no (s)cameras or cops to spoil your fun :D

Remember folks....

6.40am The Brickworks, Driglington, just off J.27 M62.

7am The Trading Post (aka Whitwood Inn (I think)), just off J.31 M62.

7.30am Ferrybridge Services, M62.

Petrol stop at Tesco (99RON) and Shell (V-Power) in Scnuthorpe at approx 8.15am for the Scooby's to do their first fill of many of the day.

Hopefully at the track by 8.30-9am at the latest for payment, briefing and fun, fun, fun.

Everyone please remember your crash helmets.

Remember to over-inflate your tires, +4-6lb for wet and +8-10lb for dry weather, depending on vehicle and personal preference.

Check your oil and water, and keep checking periodically throughout the day.

After each track session, use the perry roads to cool brakes, and do not use the handbrake when parking for 10+ minutes.

Leave the engine to idle for at least 2 minutes before and after each run.

Well car got cleaned and rear seats removed yesterday afternoon. Sure it'll be dirty before we get to the first service meeting point.

Just finished fitting my 2 spare wheels to the back of the car (ones got a slight buckle) then put the ones of the rear onto the front. This makes it toyo's all round and I can keep the 2 Bridgestones to fight another day.

:( i dont have no golf or no fabia, but dont worry i have a freind who will take the space of the golf. and the volvo will replace the fabia :D

I have no spare wheels so ill just shread whats on it (within legal limits) Hopefully i wont loose a wheel on the way home this time

cya all at ferrybridge services

My jobs this morning. Remove steelies, fit alloys with Hankook RS2's, check pressures, waste an hour washing car.

Current weather forecast predicts 17º and cloudy with light winds all day, and the rain not coming until 5pm

Well that makes it easier for people to mingle if the rain stays off.

And their me thinking back at the last one that the weather would be nice in august lol.

Just so everyone knows what it will cost them tomorrow, the final price with 30 cars confirmed is £35.

Looking forward to a fun and safe day

Oooh, another nugget of information. Anyone making their own way there please watch your speed. The N. Lincs Police and (s)Camera Pratnership are very vigilant and often have patrols out, especially on the M180. The main convoy will be adhering to all limits en-route.

its blooming early:D

for a saturday

A big thank-you to all the Briskodians who came along today. Really it was your trackday today as you outnumbered the Scooby club, but they did feed and water us all so we'll let them off. Sorry a few guys went home with some bills to pay, but they seemed to take it in good spirits and by-and-large avery fun and safe day was had by all. I might organise it, but it's you guys turning up and joining in that make it so much fun. Thanks again !

PS - Did anyone leave a red Arai helmet behind ?
