Forge BOV???

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. As stated in my sig I have a Forge 006 BOV which I am very happy with however since I have fitted my Forge TIP the dv sits further back in the engine bay.

This has not been a problem until I fitted an S3 upper strut brace and now the dv is between the brace and rear panel in the bay which causes a rattle.....a very annoying metal on metal rattle as it strikes the strut brace.

For the moment I have stuck some adhesive foam pads onto the strut brace between it and the dv which sorts the problem until the heat perishes the foam and I have to reapply a new pad.

I am thinking of selling the 006 and replacing with the standard dv as it is plastic and considerably smaller than the Forge for the moment.

I still want an uprated dv for when I get a remap and was wondering if the Forge 007 is similar in size to the original dv, the 006 being quite wide which is really the root cause of the problem. Other options are the Bailey DV30 or relocating the dv.

Any thoughts

I have the Bailey DV30 together wioth the S3 strut brace and no problems at all, as they are well away from each other.

Might be caused by the height of the Forge TIP, I have the ABD Racing tip that keeps the top section of the OEM tip in the same place.

If you want to have a look, I am at Cosgrove most weekends?

I too have a forge TIP and an s3 strut brace and found that various components and pipes were catching the brace. I however have fitted the forge DV relocation kit so have no problem. I also have a Forge SPLT R DV which seems to work well and is much easier to adjust at the front of the engine bay. I have had to trim the edge of my engine cover a bit though to stop that rubbing on the relocation pipe.

I've got the 006, its quite a big un isn't it. After i got my TIP it looked squashed so i put the plastic one back on and have been running with it on for ages with no issues. Mine is remapped.

When my n75 went wrong and i hit 1.4bar before limp mode came in standard Dv still never broke.

I have a Forge spltr r dv and thats a bit chunky ,i havnt fitted it im hoping it ent too big so i dont have to cut the engine cover to make it fit

The split r valve sits sideways so should be fine but it will be tight :o

Think I'll chance my luck and get a 007 and use the original for now and try and flog the 006 here or on ebay to recoup some losses

007 is still bigger than standard but not as big as the 006 AFAIK.

007P is OEM size 006 is larger

if your thinking of selling your forge how much do you want for it as i may be interested as i have a bailey but want a forge.
