How can I tell

Featured Replies

My wife ran down the road after me the other day to put something I had forgotten in the back. And the hatch would not open.. I got out and opened it.

Thinks ----I have the thing that locks the doors after moving off. Do I ?

Can't think of what else it would be. I'm not fully sure how it works and what if any control I have over it.

In any event it seems something on my car would stop scum robbing me a traffic lights. I like it.:D

If you press your keyfob button it will unlock the drivers door only. Press it twice, it unlocks the whole car. If you have the auto lock function active on your car ( the dealer can turn it on or off ) you will hear the doors lock when you get to around 10-15mph.

Agree with streety- if you have auto lock then when you get up a few mph you will hear the locks fire closed.

If you have maxidot then you can set the auto lock from there.

You can't unlock the boot with the engine running and the driver's door closed, unless you press unlock on the button near the handbrake, or you (obviously) open the driver's door first.

This is to prevent theft at traffic lights, but it almost got me strip searched by a border guard when I forgot about it and he couldn't open it for a look in.

Exactly like Sebulbus said.

It doesn't matter if you have auto-lock/unlock or not. This is a feature of the car.

Yep - Agreed.

Nothing wrong with the system that's just how it is.

I've never heard my central locking lock all the doors after I've got to 15 mph. So I don't think that applies. I'm sure I would hear it; it is not exactly subtle is it.

But the "unopenable boot with the engine running and the drivers door closed" I do have or so it seems, and like I say, I LIKE IT. Excellent

Thanks:thumbup:

I don't have it either, but the boot locks itself 100% sure.

Wish it would do the same to the back doors too, as I sometimes leave stuff lying around there too.

my boot remains locked till i press either the boot button or manually press the unlock all doors button inside the car.
