Got stopped for speeding yesterday.

Featured Replies

Unmarked Volvo pulled me for 53 in a 40. The first thing he said was 'Do you live in Pickford Green?' which I thought was strange. 'No, Eastern Green' I replied.

After he informed me of my speed he said 'What speed were you doing the other night?'

'What do you mean?' I replied. 'Well' he said, 'you overtook an off duty colleague on his motorcycle doing 110 mph on the same stretch of road. We knew it was you from the Briskoda stickers on the back of your car.'

'Be more careful in future, off you go'.

Oops :P

Bwahahahah , nice

Nice to hear of some good cops out there.

Sounds like you had a lucky escape!,

My Mate Adam (red octy vrs) who came to Prague with us, got pulled this morning by an unmarked Volvo, for alleged Dangerous Driving. But after a quick chat was let off and told to be on his way.

Lucky lucky boy!!

So what speed were you doing if the off duty copper was doing 110 on his motorbike :P

Result for you there Jon :)

This is what I like about real Policemen :) They are human, just like us.

:iagree: they are out there :)

so did you get done for the 53 in the 40?

No, nothing at all.

Do you suppose they are reading this?

Do you suppose they are reading this?

Even if they were do you think it would be possible to bring a successful prosecution from evidence on an internet forum?

Reads like an admission of guilt to me. Besides, I thought over a ton was an instant ban? Especially if, as it seems, it was in a 40 limit.

So the rozzers will just look up 'GillyWibble' in the phone book and it's case closed?

Hadn't thought of that :D

Must have been similar to be able to read the small stickers!

Good to see there are some decent coppers out there. :)

Also an admission of guilt from the off-duty copper then, who was doing 110??

And it would appear from the conversation transcribed above that Mr Gillywibble never confirmed or denied the accusation :)

Steve

"What? A skoda can go over 110mph?"

agreed, they are way better than a scamera van, they can take into account how you were driving, conditions, car ect, not just the figure of "speed"

lucky there gilly  its not like you to speed! :P

I had a similar experience myself about a year ago ;)

Even if they were do you think it would be possible to bring a successful prosecution from evidence on an internet forum?

I didn't mean that in that sort of way... just a wondering, and why the copper on the bike would know/recognised a Brisky sticker :)

When it comes to prosecution via an Internet forum - what's the point in going to that much effort. They could just sit at the top of the M40 in the late evening when the average speed is over 80 miles an hour!

He Probably thought it was a skoda after all, My mate must have imagined it,!

He Probably thought it was a skoda after all, My mate must have imagined it, Or his speedo is wonky,

Lucky bugga... now go buy a lottery ticket. :D

So, the truth will out

You're not only a danger on here - but out on the roads too :P

Jammy barsteward
