Chamois leathers

Featured Replies

OK, i'm ready to take some flak on this one but i did a search and couldn't see much.

I really think a chamois leather is quite stiff and harsh to use to dry my car but i'm sure i have been told it's the best thing to use. However after reading quite a few threads on here everyone is talking about micro fibre cloths and i'm now wondering if this is a better route to go?

(on a side note my car is black magic and seems to get really bad water marks if not hand dried?)

Opinions welcome!

p.s. if everyone says micro fibre cloths i'm of to Costco tomorrow ;)

Microfibre rules - sorry.

And try to use the 2 bucket method :o

what anonymouse said!

I am a recent convert to waffle weave micro fibre towels having used chamois for years

Of course chamois actually need to bet quite wet to be effective

Tesco do small microfibre cloths for 80 something pence which are good for polishing, butfor drying get a large towel, got mine from autobritedirect.co.uk

microfibre all the way!!

microfibre all the way!!

Same here

Can you buy these cloths in any high street outlet / halfrauds? I'm probably popping into Exeter later on so interested. :)

I got a microfibre towel from halfords not long back.

When I got my AG Aqua Wax I got a couple of micro fibres with it. Good wax and the cloths are a nice size and dry the car well

I bought a Meguiars Water Magnet from Halfords for drying and its great.

A garden leaf blower works well :)

I'm no detailing expert but I bought the Autoglym synthetic chamois and it's great. Works as well as chamois but lasts and lasts. Cost £7-£8

Agree with that ...mine works well ....but they are quite expensive

Waffle Weave Drying Towel gets my vote:
