hello...dont wonna bore n e 1 with the same old question BUT i bought robs old yellow vrs and wonna make it go better the car goes ok at the min just wonna get a bit more (YEAH) out of her..ive never done n e mods to a car before so havnt got a clue were to start but i did own a sti type uk 300 (before i got banned)wot a motor that woz...but it drank the old motion lotion like there woz no tomorrow(70miles for 20 nicker if u didnt boot it... just burn a tenner in your hand if u did..thats how long it would last) but thats another story...so if n e 1 can tell me were to start i would be very greatful...thanks

It does help the search facility as well ..........eg when someone is looking for info on exhausts and theres loads of posts about Zorsts that person aint gonna find diddly squat.

I'm not familiar with Rob's old car so you'll have to forgive me if he has tweaked it already. If you just want a bit more performance, you should have a look at getting a remap. There are loads of companys that can remap the car for you with prices from £250 (ish) to £500 depending who and what type you choose. Have a search of the forums as remaps have been covered loads in the past. You could also try talking to a few of the site sponsors once you know what you want (not sure which if any of the sponsors are local to you though). If you do go for the remap, you should also look at getting a decent air filter or cold air intake.

If you are after things to make the car look nice, you could have a look in the classifieds section of the site. If you have an idea of what you want to go for (suspension upgrades etc), try using the search as most of it has been covered before and peoples opinions vary (and the older users get annoyed when people don't use the search!)

:)thanks..ive got a revotecknic card when i bought the car so ive been looking at that can get a 500mile freetest when i take the car in...i was just wondering about intake,filters,and if anyone had done there suspension (like how much to lower)the subaru was pretty easy really all you had to do was send it to prodrive and they sold kits from 350/400and 450bhp...you dint need to do anything else because it was all done i picked the octy because its a great looking car and the insurance is a lot cheaper for me now but was gonna put my mark on it while ive got it..i was having trouble finding my way round the forum so i thought id ask a question...thanks for you help...ill see what other info i get from this post

If you want to see big gains, some of the tuners do offer tuning packages (Stage 1, Stage 2 etc.) so you could in theory pick what you want and send it to them. To be honest, it's not something I'm that familiar with but I imagine if you know what sort of power gains you want, then somebody will else will be able to help you. All I know is that it doesn't come cheap.

There are loads of options for suspension, I think the main factor is how much money have you got to spend.. If you have a look here you should get some ideas.

I said there are plenty of posts, litterally hundreds in fact, that could tell you anything you could ever possibly want to know about modding your Octavia. All you have to do is search for them. How is that negative?

have a look on websites like awesome gti and jabba to see what's available as there both well regarded tuners and have details on there website about what they can do. coil overs are good and if your looking at exhausts and intakes then get them done 1st before a remap and then get a custom remap.
