does anybody remember the sega master system?? i've recently got into it again and i've been playing golden axe and other vintage stuff...

who else is into retro games?? or is it just me:O

I have a huge collection.

Are you playing the real things , or emulators?

I have some emulators like Mario Kart, Golden Axe and even Desert Strike!

Works well on a PC keyboard, needs no installation but Road Rash is addictive and frustrating. :D

For me, you can't beat sensible soccer

If you want some more I've got a spare Megadrive and a spare Dreamcast that you can have nice and cheap....

Both boxed and in good condition

Me and a friend were talkiing the other day about old consoles and what we had in the past, my list was (in no particular order):

Seag Master System

Sega Mega Drive

Sega Game Gear (with the TV tuner!)

Nintendo SNES

Atari Lynx

PS1

PS2

XBox

XBox 360 (Current)

Wii (Current)

Before that we had Sinclair Spectrum and Atari ST, always had a PC since an Olivetti PC1 8086!

I've got a full set of Sega consoles , a Full set of Nintendos , a full set of Commodore computers , various spectrums , Ataris and other oddities plus an X-Box , PS1 and some other stuff , plus boxes of games

Ah yes the good old days,

I bought a Sega Master systerm to play one game only, and that was Outrun, later sold.

I bought the original PS2 to play one game only, and that was GT3. Sold that.

I later bought a slimline PS2, for one game and that was GT4, again since sold.

I now have an Xbox360, bought for PGR3 but now used with lots of other retro games from xbox live arcade. (track&field, gauntlet, joust, defender and so on) as well as Forza2 and several other games.

D'oh!

Forgot to mention the arcade machines!

I've got a full size cab running MAME and a Roadblasters upright.

I did have a Gauntlet II but sold that.

I may get rid of Roadblasters and get a Gauntlet Legends or a Gauntlet Dark Legacy.

Them were the day's, when my big brother got a master system 2 it came with alex the kid built in, i was only a nipper so i used to like that and 'out run' i think. Then Desert Strike and LHX on the Megadrive.

Whatever happened to the Sega Saturn, I have vague memories of playing Daytona USA on a hired console.

you can get the old games on the wii. i still have somewhere an amstrad emulator for the pc and play some of the old games from there.

The playstation wiped the floor with it

yup good console but was supposed to be a pig to develop for so no one mate games for it :(

Then there was the Dreamcast........great console but again it never really made it

I loved Sega Rally on the Saturn...but that was about it.:)

And as for the master system , for me , it was always Alex Kidd + California Games

Just noticed special edition see through Saturn on the fleabay for £175:)

I still play my Atari 2600. Space invaders, pong, indy 500 and just got ms. pac man for it. Awesome console with it's black colour selector switch.

I've got a master system with the lightgun and a Megadrive in the attic. I think they had died the last time I tried though.

I've got a couple of those as well - both boxed and mint with a pile of games :D

While waiting for my phone to recharge at glasto (feeling my life draining away) i downloaded zsnes and streetfighter 2 on one of the pc's they had and began destroying oncomers left right and of course centre!

Good to know Ive still got it! oh yeah......

Ahh I love them, remember when I was about 6 or 7 and having an Amstrad CPC 464, used to load a game, go out and play for half an hour / an hour, come back and the game would have just about loaded! :D So many games I never finished because I never stopped the tape in time to seamlessly load the next set of levels!

I remember when Sonic 2 first came out and I thought it was the greatest thing I had ever seen in my life.....bugged my parents for a Megadrive for a good couple of years after that!! I think it may still be in working order actually, must dig it out again after all these years!

Forgot the Saturn and Dreamcast now other people have mentioned it! The Saturn may still be in my Mums loft.

i seem to remember there was an attachment you could get for the megadrive which allowed you to put master system cartridges in there??

There was indeed.

I've also got one for my Game Gear that allows you to play master system games.

Battery life is still shocking though
