New VW/Audi 2.0TFSI Engine

Featured Replies

Just reading up on the new 2.0 TFSI engine recently launched in the A4 and it makes for impressive reading when compared to the current engine (if this has already been covered before, then appologies).

The figures shown are for an A4 Saloon and in brackets an Octavia vRS TFSI hatch:

Power: 211 ps (200ps)

Torque: 258lbft (207lbft)

Max speed: 155mph (149mph)

0-60 mph: 6.9s (7.3s)

Urban mpg: 31.4 (25.9)

Extra urban: 54.3 (45.6)

Combined: 42.8 (35.8)

Emissions: 154 (188)

Car tax: £145 (£210)

So thats more performance for less fuel and cheaper car tax

The fuel consumption figures are particularly impressive, though interestingly the vRS weighs 35kg MORE than the A4, which is a bigger car.

It's going to make the choice between a petrol and diesel vRS very difficult in the future, assuming Skoda get this engine.

"assuming Skoda get this engine. "

If it lowers the ranges CO2 output I can't see why Skoda wouldn't get it...

IIRC the vRS has additional chassis strengthening compared to the standard platform.

My guess is that it will get rolled out with the mid-term revisions for most the VAG brands.

Does this mean that all the Audis are using it now? the facelifted S3 has got a tad more power too.

No extra power just lower emissions, slightly improved mpg and the addition of a 5dr to the line up.. :rubchin:
