Hands free Bluetooth version

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I've checked in a lot of foruns for one answer to the problem I have. When I connect my Iphone to the integrated Bluetooth kit in my octavia II, I only get part of the contacts of the sim, I cannot acess th missed calls, received calls or the phonebook.

Is there a problem with my version or is something that i have to change in the radio menu.

Thx for the help

Best regards from Portugal

I'm assuming you have the factory Skoda kit installed which has a 1Z part number. That being the case I actually saw an iPhone used with this kit yesterday and it had full access to all of the functions.

Where do I see this "1z" part number? The kit came pre-installed from factory I only have added the bleutooth antena.

Thx

The unit you plugged the antenna into will normally have the part number on it.

5p is the older version of the bluetooth controller.

1z being the latest and better one.

I am fairly sure it is not something you can fix other than changing the hardware.

I have the same problem with my Nokia, older version of Bluetooth controller unit, new Nokia phone. Any idea how much would cost newer version controller unit?

If it's an N95 it still won't download the address book properly mate, I tried both versions, and only the later module was fully compatible with the Iphone to

As Tony says above most Nokia phones that use Symbian are a problem. There is a program called Nokia Download Contacts which may help but it's not ideal.

Do what I have just done, out with the N95 8Gb and in with a Sony Ericsson C902, works seamlessly. (not got an MFD3 though........... yet..........lol)

I read somewhere that the 5po..... is the reference code for vw and the 1z..... is for skoda parts

So is there anyway to fix my problem?

interstingly I am having the saem issue with my blackberry pearl 8100

I have tested with a colleagues blackberry 8130 and it works fine (although displays "no network" in the MFD3)

I think there are certain bluetooth services that need to be enabled on the phone, but I'm not certain how to do this

5P (SEAT Altea Chassis) was the original unit in common circulation which is generally fitted to the LEON/Altea and was also fitted to earlier Octavia. Since then they have had a couple of revisions of a 1Z (Octavia Chassis) unit which now also supports the RNS510/Columbus. The image on my website is indeed an older picture of a 5P unit.

The 1Z unit is cosmeticly slightly different to the 5P but physically the same size. Yes they are interchangble.

Price, anyone?

I think they are somewhere in the region of £350 - £400 from a dealer.

Just had my bt kit supplied and fitted at simpsons in preston £434.75

This was the last of their current stock.

The chap there did say that from now on he was expecting the cost to go up in the region of £50 due to the poor exchange rate of the Pound against the Euro

Hi, I have the same problem, my Octy is from 2005 and have the old module,it came with the car and the pre-installation of cell phone,to have the bluetooth i only have to buy the antenna and ask for the programing, i have a nokia 7610, and only works the handsfree, it woks perfectly. My question is, if i get the new module, what i have to do, just disconnect one and connect the oder, or there is anything else to do. Best regards

Yes the newer module should just plug straight in.
