New and a Couple Questions

Featured Replies

Hey guys im new to this site as a few days ago i purchased a Lovely Silver 2004 Fabia VRS and i bloody love it, its still standard and the power/torque is just awesome but i have a couple questions.

1. How do you remove the normal arial as i have a purchased a bee sting one id like to fit.

2. There is a nocking/creaking noise when engaging/disengaging the clutch and upon sudden application of the throttle. Any idea what this is and how easy of a job it is to do and how much roughly it will cost.

Cheers in advance for any help.

Hi and welcome to Briskoda....

I can answer your first question for you....... Just unscrew the aerial as far as it'll go then give it a bloody good tug.... I mean it'll look like the roofs coming off but you'll be ok.....

Be carefull with the aerial you replace it with though as i bought a metal beesting aerial from Richbrook and it caught the rear spoiler when the boot was opened.... Most people go for the Honda S2000 aerial.

Cheers

Dave.

Right, not too sure myself, but seeing as noone else has answered, try searching for clutch or dual mass flywheel (DMF) problems, and see if any symptoms match. That by the way is a complete guess, but it's what I'd do if my car was doing that.

i recon it'll be your dogbone mount causing the knocking/creaking. i have the same problem and am having console bushes and dogbone mount replaced next week.

Is it possible for something to be wrong with the axel or anyhthing in that are because i am able to move the front wheels very slightly by pushing on them and when i tap the brakes the steering wheels does little shake too then when i go back on the gas theres a nock again almost as if the axel is moving backwards and forwards on whatever is holding it in place?

Have a look at the console bushes - Search here and you'll find some good info.

There is also a known problem with the gearbox mount causing a knocking noise on the Fabia vRS - Again covered if you search.
