Wow!

 its still intact!!

A fella I know had one of these and on the plate under the reg it had a sticker saying "Bob and Babs"

And the first person to post in here is "Babs" ..........spooky

My uncle bought brand new a 1990 Rs turbo in black. He went into Bridgend Ford, pointed to the one in the showroom and gave them cash for it there and then. He worked in germany at the time and put about 100k on the clock over about 5 years. When he can out of the RAF he came home, stuck it in a garage and bought a Polo. It's still there, totally original and will be for some time. They have actually started to go up in value too (Well the RS has!)

Do you think that guys XR3 will be tax exempt classic car now?

Nope, it was made after 1971!

Ah i see i wasn,t sure on all that stuff.

It used to roll so every year a car over 25 years old would become tax exempt. Policy changed and so did that so now it's fixed at anything older than 1971

My MGB is 3 months too new

eccy 3's and RS'oles they bring back memories

i love the steering wheel , rubber gloves required whilst steering it methinks

Exemption applies to any vehicle constructed before 1st January 1973 :)

The MGB is a J plater and we have always taxed it (Well it's Sorn ATM). Better call the old man.

Edit: Doh! I am a grade A muppet The Mgb was registered in April 1973 (Making it a L plate), the Sprite we have is 1971
