PS If I've done this wrong again can someone correct me:O

Price still seems abit steep.

Yes that should be 6K max!!!

Along with £455 road tax

Although the 20MPG is not too bad for a engine of that size.

They're getting damn cheap now! :D

That is very expensive. We had one as a part exchange a few months ago for much less than that.

Was a lovely car, suprisingly fast! Feels like much more than 270bhp, especially as the one we had was a manual the acceleration was great.

Wouldn't like to have to fund its fuel habit though!

They're around the £6k mark on Ebay, though estates seem to be pretty rare.

Would have thought a good one in the current economic climate ought to be 3.5 - 4k, but it appears to be just me! I drove one a while back and liked it a lot, but bearing in mind they will probably give me 2k (at best) for my Octavia 4x4, I'll give it a miss

It's still a hell of a lot of car for the money, even at £6k for an 03 plate car which was circa £35k+ new. I mean, it's in several classes above the Octavia so anybody expecting to get one for Octavia money is living on cloud cuckoo.

I looked at these a few months back. I really wanted to like them, but they just don't make any sense IMHO. They don't offer any real performance to warrant that sort of fuel use and where they perform best (on motorways) you can get diesels which are far more economic and nearly as rewarding... admittedly they would probably cost more to buy. A lot of people criticise the gearboxes too.

The noise is good though :)

A mate of mine owns this one and its a very nice car, great spec and fairly quick for an auto, also has an aftermarket pipe,so sounds a bit meatier too :D

Lots of cars cost a lot new it doesn't make them worth bugger all on the secondhand market-especially dull rep mobile lookalikes with large thirsty engines. Don't get me wrong I like them a lot but because they are dull - sleepers if you like. I just thought that that one in particular was grossly overpriced, and that they all appear too dear for the current market state, which is annoying as I'd like one:mad: If they did a Superb version it'd be 1/2 that and I'd buy one:) I reckon it is just because it has VW on the front, which just shows how gullible people are. Another interesting comparison is between a Mazda6 MPS and a R32. I know which I'd buy secondhand on the value for money front:eek:

Hell of an engine though:thumbup:
