My Octy 2.0TDI Serviced today

Featured Replies

Had the Octy serviced today by my friendly now non skoda dealership (they are now skoda specialists), the service was the 3rd variable for my car at just under 57K miles and I was pleased with the final bill for everything that was done which was a few quid over £200.

The cambelts being done in a few weeks, then the car will be put through its first MOT, then the Tax is due and thats me sorted for another year.

I wonder how the service cost compares to other peoples experiences.

Oh, and I had what must be one of the worst courtesy cars ever, a 2002 Vauxhall Corsa 1.7 Di which without a turbo was unbelievably slow. After driving 100 miles in that today, I was relieved when I got my own car back.

Looking forward to doing the cambelt for you ;)

Paid £190 for second variable at 36K a couple of weeks ago at an independant vw specialist. Saved £75 over the dealer quote. Car now 3 year old so I didnt think the extra dealer expense was worth it.

Has anyone tried negotiating service prices? My wife runs a Fiat and the main dealer has a second rate book, for those out of warranty, which is significantly cheaper than the Fiat laid down price.

Seemed like a good price you paid there.

I used to have a Corsa Di and yes they are god awful things

Regarding dealer prices differing, i went to a large Skoda and was told £279 for first variable ,then smaller Skoda dealer quoted £190, lastley my own local Skoda repair shop done it for £175.

Looking forward to doing the cambelt for you ;)

Do you have any information on this sort of service from yourself as I'd be very interested in recieving it? ;)

I was under the impression the Octy II TDI was an 80k interval on the cambelt have I got this wrong or is ther now current history of the things going before 80k/4years?

Ta

£20 cash + a full demo of my VAGCOM for third variable at my local independent + self supplied Skoda filters and oil.

Mine was done yesterday as it happens!

Also a third variable service at 57k at a franchised dealer.

It was going to be £215 , but because they'd forgotten to book it in and had no record of me on the computer it was done for £185 instead.
