now now,he might not have heard of a skyline before:D

MOTORBIKES!

the old ones are the best.... I heard Rusty F***nut went to school with rob mawer.....

pmsl:rofl::rofl::rofl:

so, you think a fabia pushing 382lbft of torque cant do 60 in 5 seconds

Not unless mr blobby is siting on the bonnet. Lets face it a remapped fabia

has bother putting 170bhp though the front wheels to 60mph never mind the 200bhp plus that you had. Come on 0-60 on a tdi is never its strong point no matter how many ponies it has unless it has 4wd.

well my octy could do it with 270-280 lb ft.... but only with the slicks on....

my fabia has no problem at all putting 173bhp and 347 ft lbs of torque down in the dry,no wheelspin nothing, its all about having the right diff;)

I take it the petrol turbo s come in quite smoothly unlike are tdi s where it comes in like a wrecking ball as some one once described.

only in standard form, when mapped correctly they map out the huge torque spike to make it much more linear

I heard that a fabia vrs is faster than an octavia vrs if both are standard

No no a motorbike is :rofl:

If I can only run one vehicle, it would be a car, car's are a mode of transport for me, bikes are for fun.

The great thing about bikes is for very little outlay, you can get something with a ridiculous power to weight ratio, which I certainly couldnt afford an equivalent car.

Bikes are brilliant, I love riding mine, and is the choice for a sunny sunday blast. The problem is a lot more concentration/skill/experience is necessary to pilot a bike quickly, smoothly and safely. I have done the IAM/Observer thing, but still feel I can improve my riding and realise that your only ever a dopey muppet away from being killed.

Tomorrow I will mostly be razzing about the peak district on my bike :P.

RBW.

Think once,think twice.................oh **** too late!!! Get a car forget the bike.

Now you are being a bit of a **** to be honest.

It's all horses for courses, some of the people commenting on bikes have never ridden one, let alone a decent modern bike. Some of the people commenting on cars have perhaps never been in a real high performance car to put that into perspective.

As a biker and car driver I would more than agree that you can have a lot of fun in a car but for me, not as much as I can on a bike. I am better on a bike than I am in the car when it comes to "spirited" riding / driving.

The business about "driving" a car and just "riding" a bike does not stack up, on a well set up bike (as you can with a well set up car) you can feel every ripple in the road surface, feel the amount of grip from the front and back end and a set of well toasted knee sliders is a thing of beauty.

I had a stock GSXR1000 K5, bone stock, cost me £6.5k new and it with my 6'1" 18 stone frame would run sub 11's, which is not to shabby in the bangs for bucks stakes.

So ... why not just leave it, pure car drivers are never going to be convinced, bikers are never going to be convinced so nobody wins.

Well said Tony.

But of course all of us know deep down that bikers are gay :P

Well, as it's you Dave [bite]:D

As all car drivers are insecure little lovies that would shudder at the thought of a teesny weensy bruise doing something they like [/bite]

Drunk Saudis ?

Basil lives in Bahrain IIRC. :)

Glad that there is a bit of diversity in here, I thought I was all on my own in appreciating anything other than a Skoda badge.

Thanks for the mention of Skyline. Yep heard of one of those, and I have seen one too (coo!)

Let's take the completely stock GT-R of the same year as my bike '98 (since my bike is stock also, after all, it's only fair!).

Thats only around 2 second slower than my bike getting from 0-60mph stakes ( 5.2 ). So you are getting warmer,

definitely ;P

Also, I guess part of this attitude I don't get. Having a wet dream about Nissan GT-R's when you don't actually own one for instance.

If you can actually afford to own and run something like that, get it, and stop being a pansy about the whole thing. If you are just saying it, because that's all that you can grasp to refer to, well that's just weak.

If you are never going to own it, wow thats like saying, maybe if I'm real lucky tonight I will be shacked up with an FHM babe. But there is something called reality you know. Maybe you should check it out.

Otherwise just get a bike, grow some real balls, and do the same thing for a LOT less :D

But I will never be without my vRS - plan to keep it for as long as it wants to keep with me, I love it, it's just a different toy for a different mood.

Actually your quite wrong.

Peloquin diff is the answer. and although my clutch didnt like it........ launches in second really help ;)

Thats very little wheel spin, a lump of torque and 1 gear change to 3rd.

Thats in the dry, now in the wet its a different story. But As from my bike riding days, bike tyres dont tend to favour wet weather either ;) sideways not forwards. So i think i would still have a good go :P

All this is now irrelevent as I have matured and now am a respectful volvo owner....... Now where did i put my Pipe

i beat a kawasaki ninja (636) in my vrs, granted the bike got me on a straight but as soon as we got to a bend, he soon got lost in my rear view :D

Now you are being a bit of a **** to be honest.

Don,t blank out your words lets see it!!

I just think bikes are lethal weapons and can kill you easily especially on todays roads.I should know i had one and was nearly killed by a drunk driver many years ago. That was enough for me.

I do actually own a R34 GTR thankyou.and had it since new(51 reg)75K miles.Check the pictures in the Photography section.http://briskoda.net/photography-photoshop/camera-test-engine-car-shot/117986/

Yes i can perfectly afford to run it and maintain it to a high standard.I can achieve 0-60 in less than 5.2secs thanks and no its not stock either.

As i have just previously said bikes are lethal weapons and YOU are at a high risk of dying quicker on one too especially on todays roads where nobody gives a f...

Case closed.I don,t want to read anymore thanks.

Hey Stormy feel better now?

Must admit you were lucky when you had that accident.

But i must say that a motorbike in the wrong hands is an early grave for someone.I will never forget in Bristol about 2 years ago at 8.30am a guy on a motorbike overtook a long line of cars but didn,t see the island ahead in the middle of the road and BANG!! he hit that at such speed too. When the line of traffic moved up i could see the bike(mangled) and the rider over other side laying in the gutter. His helmet was off and i have never seen so much blood coming out of someones head before so quick!! it was running down the road in the gutter.God he must have died.Bikers just beware on the roads. Its a matter of life and death, don,t be like him and keep safe.
