vRS vs Bike - putting performance threads to rest

Featured Replies

I see there are still posts with regard to vRS performance vs other cars which is surprising (saxo post).

Having access to multiple vehicles I think you should take concillation that, nothing touches bikes :o) Even an m3 0-60mph seems PAINFULLY slow.

Lets put this into perspective, of the cars mentioned in the post on the Saxo, there is still nothing that can touch my T595 on acceleration (0-60 in 3.0). And affordability of that performance. Ok I know you will all go off on one about safety .....

The vRS has a definite place.

Its NOT primarily performance (unless serious mods are involved I am sure).

But in its stock form its fast enough to most pottering about, and certainly enough to cause stock company car driver 520d's etc to pull over once they realise how slow they are.

In its fairly stock form its a good all rounder which will beat many of its contemparies on performance but I would say even moreso ( and the real focal point of the vRS) - fuel economy.

I take concillation in knowing that I appreciate the vRS for exactly what it does on 4 wheels. Take me where I go in relative comfort, safety, speed, but mostly economy.

When I want to put just about everything else on the road to shame, and put a different kind of grin on my face, that takes a bike :o)

Whereas having a fast car is one thing - have you actually seen cars move to one side akin to parting the waves quite like a fast moving bike ? :D

the fast cars round the ring were killing the fast bikes, and even us ickle skoda drivers were monstering the bikers with our sort of talent too(ie none)the best bikers i'm sure would prove this wrong, but that weekend at the ring the bikers were all leather wearing homo's,in fact regardless of abilities they are all leather wearing homo's this is a car forum so kindly bugger off(in the nicest possible way you understand);):D

I rather be in a car any day of the week... You drive a car where as you only ride a bike. :D

My weapon of choice for this discussion would be an Ariel Atom or a Catherham 7 Superlight R500 :D

I would turn on msn but I'm at work atm :( Still I finish in 20mins. :woohoo:

work its bloody saturday!!!!!!!!!

it is saturday isn't it?:o

So if I got you right, your point is a bike is far faster than almost any car. Yes, you're absolutely right. As an ex-biker I do know and agree 100%....

However I do know which one I would rather be piloting when a drunk Saudi runs a red light out here....

Stay well.

4 days on, 4 days off shift.. so my weekend is 4 days long and I don't have to wait as long for it to come around again. :D

in a straight line, you need lots of talent to ride a bike fast...............and less so to ride your mi........oh wait this is a family forum:O

Bikes racing cars?

I dont get people making comparisons between cars and bikes.

It's like comparing Buses and Ferries.

My car goes faster than your bike in the snow.

(well, probably doesn't, as I hate the snow in my car. But you get the idea.)

Cars have seats and a roof. Job done :)

If we set off from the line and I pointed in your general direction, I bet I'd win in the end!

I just hope those leathers of yours a flame-proof. :D

Oh my god.......must have touched a raw nerve, to bring all the homophobes out of the woodwork :o)

It does take complete confidence in your heterosexuality to wear leather without feeling like you are a "poof" ( or other homophobic tendencies you might come out with )

Myself, I'm happy to live and let live and not bothered by others sexuality preferences.

Frankly, I was just stating that it was a bit silly going on about "ultimate performance" etc and I know this better than anyone, as my bike is at least twice as quick as the VRS and would leave it for dead.

So its silly to compare it to anything in this respect, as its not really what the vRs is naturally "for" (which is the practicality Skoda are selling it as) and I can't quite work out why anyone would think differently.

Because they can be a quick car. Just because there are things that are quicker/faster doesn't make it any less quick.

as my bike is at least twice as quick as the VRS and would leave it for dead.

this will make you more popular sweetheart.

[Child]I beat a moped yesterday. Nuh.[/Child]

i actually believe most posts on here are tongue in cheek you leather clad homo:P

and if you want ultimater performance i believe nasa's shuttle to be a little more sprightly than any mere motorcycle:rolleyes:

hmm Leather and sitting astride something large and throbbing, who wants it to go fast :P

bikers dont have a sense of humour..... mind you the one that bounced of my octy on the ring did....
